"sleep with 14 year old models"

is this true?


well.. he might have some reasonable okay works like the gucci and sisley's one but then again, all his p*rn*gr*ph*c style of photographs should be kept in his hardisk as a private collection and not like post on his website or something.

being nude on fashion photographs are okay but definitely not those more crude ones that leads to it being called, p*rn*gr*phy.

I like Terry. I don't think he's pretentious, at all. I think he sucks and he knows it. That's why people actually care for his work. It's like kitsch, or mary kate olsen.

He can actually take great photographs but he chooses not to. He chooses to do what he wants to. Take crappy p*rn-like photos and sleep with 14 year old models.

A lot of people would like to do that, but they just don't think it's correct and they don't admit it. Well he doesn't really care, because he's bad anyway.

I'd say TR is a pornographer that does a little fashion. I neither like or loath his work, it doesnt invoke any reaction for me. I dont think he is particulary good at either.

I agree. He is definitely a somewhat talented photographer vulture who refuses to give his gun for hire without slapping it in your face. There are plenty of photographers/directorrs who woo their young models/actresses in a semi-genteel way but in the end it's an older guy f-ing a young thing over. Terry does that and makes sure everybody knows what a creep he is. Whatever he is, he's most certainly not a hypocrite. But, I wouldn't say he's great. I would say that he's troubled and the only evidence that he is talented that I have are the Sisley ads. On the other hand, those are absolutely beautiful. Some of the best ads I've seen - especially the ones with Nicole Trunfio - those are magical.

He has the same type of talent that his father had - only most of Bob Richardson's shots were great and I cannot say the same for Terry. In fact, come to think of it, Bob Richardson was the fashion photographer of the late 60s and early 70s who took the popcultural love affair with drugs the furtherst, and now I suppose we could say Terry has done the same with the early late 90s, early 00s love affair with sex. I just wish most of his photography could be at least on the same level as the Sisley ads....

I'm not sure if I have posted these with Patti Hansen before and I'm throwing in a few more - the dopey blonde I think is Donna Mitchell - one of his fave models. I've got to dig up some more - because I really like his shots. There are a few of his shots in Unseen Vogue, which is a great book. i was at brunch yesterday and my companion, as a couple from the next table over were leaving, said "That was Terry Richardson!" I had to go through the mental archives and then blurted out, that fashion guy who takes pictures of naked girls? "Yeah," she said. I had noticed the couple throughout brunch because the guy was so old and goofy looking with a ton of tats. The chick was an extremely haggard looking, possibly mexican, girl of about 18 years, dressed in short shorts and miu miu platform wedges, chain smoking with a vengance. She looked like she'd been on about a two night coke binge, bad circles, you know? I mean not to judge, we've all had rough mornings, but jeez, it was obvious. My friend said it must be hard being a celebrity, but I was like I didn't know who the f*ck he was! Not like Elvis is back from the dead or anything!

I was flipping this book called 'The London Fashion Book' and they have an article on 'Katharine Hamnett' and some ad campaigns of them which were photographed by Terry Richardson.

And they look decently nice to me. Will google for them out.
