Amazing actor, loved her in Crash. Unfortunately I haven't seen that many movies featuring Thandie but her effort in Crash was simply mindblowing.
She has an amazing face, reminds me sometimes of Liya Kebede.

Thandie Newton for 'Life on Mars' sequel

By Dave West
Thandie Newton has been tipped to star in Ashes To Ashes - the sequel series to Life on Mars.

The role of DCI Gene Hunt's new sidekick, DI Alex Drake, is said to be coveted by many actresses following the success of the original show.

According to the Daily Mail, producers have shortlisted Thandie Newton, of ER, New Street Law's Lisa Faulkner and Liz May Brice, from Bad Girls. The paper added that Newton is tipped to win the role.

"I don't think there's an agent in the country that hasn't been pushing their clients," explained a BBC source. "Life On Mars was such a success that everyone wants to be involved."

Filming on the new series, which shifts to London in the 1980s, is due to start in July.

Thandie doing TV? Ach! She needs to worry about raising her profile in the US so she can get more roles and not do a tv show in the UK.

This is great news! I would love to see Thandie on Broadway!
*A Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof with an all-African-American cast aims for an October start date despite suffering a little bump in the road. Debbie Allen has just taken over directorial duties after Kenny Leon, who had initially been attached (but not officially signed on) is no longer with the project. The show's producer, Stephen Byrd, says that now offers are currently out to Danny Glover for Big Daddy and Thandie Newton for Maggie. Anika Noni Rose of the film “Dreamgirls” has also been mentioned for Maggie, reports Playbill News. Among the names discussed for Brick are Blair Underwood and LL Cool J. Byrd had initially been in talks with Oscar winner Forest Whitaker to play Big Daddy and Anthony Mackie to play Brick.

To be honest, the tv series she's trying to get a role for has been phenomenally successful (although I've never watched it myself ). I don't know why everyone thinks US is better. I think it's best to be a big fish in a small pond!:p

I would rather her do Broadway. I think that show might not be good for her career.

My goodness, she's tiny! I forget how petite she is, because she carries her small stature so well. Those guys look like giants next to her. :D
