The Balenciaga Thread (June 2003 - February 2009)

Hello to all you wonderful Balenciaga ladies (and men?). I have a pretty dumb question but I had tried to work it out myself but keep going around in circles. So here I go....

Now with the Euro out of control (it was 1.356 last time i checked on the weekend), if you have the choice, where should you buy your Balenciaga, in the USA or France? In 2003 it was an easy answer, now with price changes and crazy exchange rates I can't seem to figure it out, oh and not to mention the vat.

I am contemplating a Brief but I cant decide on the color, love the green vert gazon...the cobalt is nice too, it's so hard to decide....

^ i would say if you live in france just get it there. but if not...then in the US. the price difference isn't too much and not worth haggling over. but first you gotta find places that still have that style and color in stock coz it's pretty hot in the US. or say say all my SAs.

i love NM in San Francisco!!! They had so many more choices than the one in LA!

got the part time anthracite. the long-ness felt kinda weird at first but i really love the additional space. the color is gorgeous!

That's Gorgeous Clu... the first photo looks so blue, but I guess it's more like #3 in colour? I really love my part time.. I know it's not that popular but mine has become my favorite bag right now. The extra space & shape have grown on me .. ;-))

PursePrincess I think that is "travel" clutch? Is has compartments inside? I think it is part of the womens collection. On the plus side...it would be quite rare, I haven't seen many of those around.

Cavanaugh - I love that bag. Someone posted blue or purple version in another forum from a trunk show in the USA. It is GORGEOUS!!!! The colour version reallt stands out. Do you know the pricem for that one?

Water Daisy,i think it is a travel clutch there's compartments for passport,documents,etc.....i forgot top mention it ,in fact,they're the reason why i thought it was a men's purse.....coz it reminds me of my father's ferragamo clutch .....or purse,thank god that its not a men's purse afterall.....

I bought my part time truffe giant in december- never used it..i guess im going to ebay it..
What did I learn? never buy two balenciagas in the same time (i bought my office giant noir with this- and i have used it.) but the part time is just not my style! eeh

i didn't know that neiman's here got the anthracite...
the last few times i went in there, they didn't have them...
oh, and if you think neiman's has alot of bbags, then you'd die at susan...
they have older styles too, like the ghost and lots of little clutches...

I will be going to Paris and Italy (Rome and somewhere else havent had time to finalize yet), is there much of a price difference on bbags or is it so little difference and that it doesnt matter?

You know how say LV is very little difference depending in which EUropean country you are in, so it doesnt really matter, wondering if it is the same for Bbags. For instance I bought a bag from Gucci in the UK years ago and then when I got to Milan it was at least 1/3 less, felt like an ****.

I have narrowed my "I must have" list to: marine brief GH, something in the vert gazon, and the cobalt havent decided work or city. This is all very confusing, would just like one of each in every color....how nice that would be....

I think the suede is from F/W 02 if i remember right.

yes, it's from f/w 02...
the only season they did the moto styles in suede...

that style is pretty popular...
louiseypeasey's site has pics of two other examples from the multizip line...

i've been looking for the style on the right forever...

cavanaugh, i'm not a fan of that, but that's mainly because of the suede.. It do got some charm!

Ok, I've called everywhere and no rouge vif
However, they have rouge vermillon at the B boutique. My question is: has anyone seen this bag in person? The SA said it's a true red, but in pictures it looks orage, which I don't want. Any info would be appreciated.

oh... i didnt know the names of colours in balenciaga are similiar to hermes(rouge VIF (deep red),rouge Vermillon(bright lipstick red)blush: ,are they exactly the same colours as hermes colours too??
