The Blonde Hair Thread

*Sasha, what kind (brand?) of haircolor did you use? That looks gorgeous!*

I used to know this girl who had AMAZING (natural) blonde hair. It was very long and almost completely white. I'm wondering, well I have very dark blonde hair (almost light brown, but not completely) about waist length and do you you think it's possible to get a white blonde color? Well, I know it's possible, but is it practical? I'm worried that it will damage my hair too much or cost a fortune, or that I'll have to touch up the roots, like every day. Does anyone have any ideas??

muffy, I think it's possible, especially since your hair isn't dark brown or black at the moment. In my opinion, it's always best to get 2 or 3 colors with highlights (usually blends to make one pretty one). You can show the hairdresser a pic or say that you want it to be overall very light. If you have strong hair, it will turn out the best.

word. I do the 3 highlights thing and it looks really nice wheatish-white-blondish.

I'm blonde  But I don't know what shade it is... well here's a picture anyway

^ Then that's it too... IDK Why it looks too different shades... maybe the lighting?? (Well I was outside for the second one, then in my closet for the one before, so that probably has something to do with it...)

What do you all think about about hair length on blondes? My friends say only brunettes look good with long hair (but they are brunettes, soo...)

Mine is a few inches past my shoulders and I (had) bangs, but now they are pretty long and almost touch my chin.

What are some good styles that look pretty with blonde hair?

Thanks!

Vintage, there's so many ways you could style your hair, regardless of the color. It's all about your preference.

I, being blonde, love to wear my hair long--either straight or flowy. But make sure, if you want to go long, that you get layers otherwise it throws your head out of proportion. ^_^

You could also look at the Star Style forums and look at all the blonde celebrities to see the differences.

Shorter: Naomi Watts, Sienna Miller, Nicole Richie, Reese Witherspoon..
Longer: Jessica Simpson, Denise Richards, Karolina Kurkova, Kate Bosworth..

See how cute Jess' hair is like that?

I have a major thing for long blonde hair. It just attracts my attention and thats why I keep my hair long. I really think any haircolour looks great look, as long as the hair is thick and shiny.
So yes, long blonde hair rocks. I think it has something very innocent and feminine.

I have natural blond hair
and I wash it just with
penaten baby camille shampoo
the others are too strong
( = my hair falls out cause of them);
and I don`t put any conditioner
on them,nothing!
Even no styling mousse(only if it is
really needy)
And it looks gorgeous;:flower:  :flower:

shes actually my 'hair-inspiration', I never want to cut it because I find hers to be so perfect.

Yeah, her hair dries naturally straight and slightly wavy. So unfair ^_^

Hers and Kate Bosworth's hair are perfect. Not overprocessed--just a silky baby blonde. *sigh*

My favorite hair in general is Denise Richards and Elle Mcpherson, the color of denise's is fab but I cant seem to think who has the best blonde hair right now...!

I find that it's rare to see healthy-looking long blonde hair. I love how Sienna Miller's looked when it was really long, but she had extensions. I can't think of any pretty long-haired blondes without extensions!

On a side note, does anyone here do a single process blonde? I mean, I really like say, Anna Kournikova's hair color and Kate Bosworth's but, can anyone really tell if they have more than one color in their hair? I can't. i just had mine colored yesterday and I am beginning to think base color and a highlight is over-rated you know. I mean, it costs more and takes more time i the salon and I am always annoyed when I walk out, because I get foils and yet after, you can still see a bit of roots. When i used to do a single process taht wasn't a problem. I am wondering maybe if next time I shoudl just do a single process and see what that looks like by itself and then tweak with the color at the next appointement after that.

Your hair is unbelievably gorgeous- please don't ever do all over color! I would hate for you to damage it or get away from that perfect color you have. The highlights look great- I would stick with those.

They surely have more than one colour ... I think most natural blondes have more than one blonde shadow.

I'm a natural brunette, but in the summer I gradually went blonde with the plan of going dark again in the fall. I just fell inlove with it that I couldn't bare to leave it. It was a big change and I don't think a lot of people liked it at first because it was such a dramatic change, but now everyone prefers me with light hair. Now, the dilemma was that since I am a brunette, I would constantly deal with the awful sight of the black roots. As ashamed as I am to admit this, I started using "Clairol Touch of Sun" on my roots, and it works so well. I never have roots, and the colour is such a nice highlight to my hair. It's sure as hell a lot better than looking at blonde hair and BLACK roots  But I still have to deal with the dark eyebrows, but it's not that baaad

I used to be a natrual blonde, and I mean really blond, but about a month ago, I guess I got bored, and I colored my hair brown (worst mistake!), I'm gonna color it back soon thouhg. But the biggest change was definetly that I feelt I couldn't wear all of the colours i useually wore...my style really change to a more sofisticated look...

I think that the best blond color is then it's alot of diffrent shades in it

Blondes - Product advice?

I did a search for discussion of John Frieda/Sheer Blonde products, but didn't find anything - if this needs to be merged with another thread, I apologize :flower:

My hair is a multi-toned blonde, mostly a light honey color, with streaks of champagne, and sometimes in the summer, platinum. I've never colored my hair in any way, never even used styling products. It's pretty much virgin and while I thought I'd always keep it that way, I'm not liking that it's getting a little harder every year to get an overall lighter tone just being out in the sunshine. I use a several shampoos regularly, including the lighter Sheer Blonde shampoos and conditioners. I'd like a little help this summer, and have been looking at the Beach Blonde Lemon Lights Highlighter - the ingredients are listed as:

Active Ingredients:Water; Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Juice; Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer; Triethanolamine; Propylene Glycol; Diazolidinyl Urea; Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel; Methylparaben; Fragrance; Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Juice; Ananas Sativus (Pineapple) Fruit Juice; Disodium EDTA; Ascorbic Acid; Benzoic Acid; Propylparaben; Yellow 5; Formula #6030.

None of those are a peroxide type chemical, are they? I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to cosmetics/potion ingredients, since I use very, very few. I don't mind using the citrus to lighten, but I'd rather not be peroxiding or bleaching.

Also, I'm planning to swim a lot in the early part of the summer, pretty much all of June - will something like this damage my hair, in combination with the chlorine? I know chlorine is damaging on it's own, and make sure to wash it as soon as I can, treat it well, and condition it properly. Also, as a child, my hair had the tendency to turn green after swimming, but it hasn't done it in years; but I'm concerned that if I start actively trying to lighten it, it'll get that cast again.

So are there any other blondes that have had success with this product? I'm kind of excited about it, but don't want to ruin my lovely hair :D

That's a pretty natural, mild bleach (the chemicals are basically preservatives, colours and fillers as far as I can tell) but I'm not so sure it works any better than simply spraying lemon juice on your hair...
