The Face Thread, the Q's and A's about Foundations, Primers, Powders...

i would try prescriptives custom blend , you can choose if youw ant more coverage or light or it can match what kind of skin you have like oily od dry.

armani foundations are awesome too!

I know that Armani is good, but I decided Dior becouse it is thea good brand easiest to find where I live.......BTW my skin is rather oily than dry.........

I'm a pain in the butt when it comes to foundations but I can't help it!?
I read the whole thread about it and still confused!
Saturday is my shopping day, so this is a last cry for help!!(I am not that clueless when it comes to make up, but still haven't found a foundation that worked for me the way I wanted to-watching so many fashion shows will kill me!!)
The thing is that I have combination/oily T zone and that a heavy foundation just makes it oilier and very unnatural! So I was thinking Dior? Never tried it before. The options are:
Diorskin fluide/Diorskin purelight+Diorskin poudre libre or
just a liquid foundation Diorskin fluide or pure light combined with Clinique pore minimizer instant perfector, never tried it before aslo.
Has anyone tried Diorskin fluide? Is it enough alone?
Or should I stick with Clinique superbalanced make up or Lancome ID??
I want sheer to medium coverage the most natural possible...............
I desperatly need help..Otherwise I am lazy, I would never write THAT much..........

Well I'm probably too late but I think you should have gone with the Clinique or Lancome. I like Dior but I think most of their foundation are better for my skin type which is kinda dry.

You are so not late, today I went to buy it with my friends and we just ended up doing something completely different, so I have time until Monday.............I have been usind Clinique for ages, but I dont think it is best choice for me. Any advice about it or Lancome?

has anyone tried lancome foundations? im keen to try that! however i just got myself a new armani luminous silk foundation.

foudnations ive tried:

dior ultra light- its ok, very sheeer coverage, hard to match my tone

prescripives custom blend- i like it how i can like choos the coverage and how i want it dewy and glowy and how it suits my skin which is dry, color is perfect too but a little light and different fro my neck since my neck and face color has 2 different color:blush:

armani luminous silk- its awsome, great flawless coverage witout looking ttoo made up or heavy or cakey, glowing, even, and it matches my skin tone, but again with the neck problem!!!!

i want to try lancome since its not as expsnive as the prescritpvies custom blend or armani and ive heard its qhite good too, dying to try vincent longo too

I heard that Colour ID is good, havent tried it yet.But I will do that this days and let you know......

So is Armani Luminous Silk oil-based and meant to be for dry skin? Because I've heard many raves about it, but I've combination skin and I'm not sure if it's the right for me. So if you've tried it, please comment on what you thought of it (colour match, texture, coverage, whether it was too oily/broke you out etc.) and on the Matte silk too if you've had encounters.

i would say luminous silk can be used for dry-combination skin. i didnt get any brakouts from it, the texture is sheer and nice with enough coverage, its def not oily. it also matches my skin perfectly. go for a try or ask for a sample=)

my favorite is chanel doule perfection- not very moisturizing but it is a perfect color match for me since i am in between shades

Can you tell me something about Chanel double perfection? What your face looks like after you have it, and what kind of skin do you have? Does it look natural, and not to heavy since it is matte and made for combination skin?
Thanks!

i have combination skin-I love the color match about chanel double perfection and i feel like it just disappears into my skin- it is impossible to tell if you blend well, i have tried vitalumiere by chanel and that is more obvious on me-it looks very shiny and just sits on top of my skin. The only con of double perfection is that it looks a bit dry in the severe new york winter, but it is good for a more humid/warmer climate. It is long lasting if set with a good powder. It is also wearable in the winter with moisturizer underneath- it is my hg foundation because of the color match. It definitely looks natural, it is not heavy on me, and it is not "too" matte to the point of being cakey.
It delivers really good results on me-

You are so cute, thanks. Just one more thing what kind of coverage do you have after you apply it?

has anyone got anything to say about the brand "model.co"?? Its new here in Norway, and I thought Id check it out if it was any good... anyone tried it?

hey guys, i was just wondering.. is a primer like a highlighter?? and can i use a primer after foundation, like on my nose and cheekbones?

A primer is gel-like that can be applied as a base layer for smoother and
longer lasting makeup.
You apply it before your foundation :)

hi there:flower:
this is probably answered somewhere here, but...
what would you suggest to camouflage some post-acne discoloration? i have some patches that are slightly darker or reddish on my cheeks and chin and was wondering what products would work well for this-would it be concealer/foundation/powder/tinted moisturizer/anthing else?? noooo idea what could help!!
i love fun with eye/cheek/lip color, but mostly, like a natural look. the one time my friend put foundation on me it looked really obvious and weird to me so i haven't gone near it since:shock: i really dont like the obvious cakey thick foundationey makeup look, so since i dont know what works, ive been pretty ok with nothing on my face but moisturizer. do let me know what you think could help even out my olive/light brown skin with a natural finish, so my skin still looks like its mine;) and possibly like there's nothing on it! thanks! im looking for something not too expensive..loreal/revlon/maybelline/covergirl/almay etc..but i want something good for my skin, so clinique, lancome, etc even, but any ideas are appreciated! also how to use the product.thanks so so much!!!
