the Fashion Spot in the News ... Clippings, Snippets & Mentions

Wow, that's a harsh article about tFS members.. to match harsh comments about a pre-fall collection that really wasn't as bad as some of the comments would make out.

Though I think it's pretty irrelevant for the writer of the article to quote a "professional fashion writer", as if her single opinion is more pertinent (and less biased) than those of a global fashion community..

^agreed, her tone is a little rude. She makes it like we are not supposed to give a bad comment on the collection (FYI: I didn't give any comment on it nor do I have an opinion). I mean, is it her business to criticize the members because she doesn't like the comments?

seriously.

I don't even know what to say....

"Most people wouldn’t dare trash an Important Label like Givenchy, but maybe now that Kouchdashian has come and (almost) gone it’s less of a scary thing to do?"

And the fact that people at tFS dare criticizing is therefore a bad thing, because we all know how lobbyism and intimidation tend to just bring the world forward...or is it those two ingredients that has democracy as we know it on its knees? I forget...

I really don't get what was the point of that article. Make it seem like we're just a bunch random people who don't "get" fashion, unlike a "professional fashion critic"? We're just criticizing Givenchy because of Kim Kardashian? tFS members are just as passionate as anyone else in the industry.

Thanks for the shout-out, I guess...

maybe those comments were snowballing on other sites and she got the order to write an article trashing said comments to discredit any person who disliked his collection...

(too much House of Cards? maybe... )

I love that of all people, she quotes the ones at style.com, who, minus Tim Blanks (who I honestly don't understand what on earth he does working for that bank, I mean, site), write whatever as long as there's money involved. The caption should read contrast between paid and unpaid and yeah, contrast between being anonymous and not. It's quite comforting deeming it all as uninformed but seriously in the nearly 10 years I've been here, the dirt has often come out from people that are actually well-positioned in the industry... I actually get my radar up when something is really nasty ... ultimately people abuse freedom of expression when they have nothing or everything to lose...

I look forward to seeing more for them, sadly I overlooked (or recklessly disregarded) that thread, but I'm glad I was alerted to the brand here.

'She's not a model': Fashion fans criticize Kendall Jenner's 'horrible' and 'cheap' new Fendi campaign
Kendall, 19, appears in a new print campaign for the brand
The reality star has previously modeled on the Fendi runway
Fendi's latest campaign was shot by designer Karl Lagerfeld himself

Kendall Jenner has revealed her first ad for Fendi on Instagram, and though 1.1million people 'liked' the picture, it seems her fashion fans do not.

Shot by Karl Lagerfeld, the ad shows the 19-year-old model wearing a large fur coat, clutching a light pink Fendi bag.

Commentators on The Fashion Spot called it 'hands down the worst Fendi campaign I've seen in a while'.

Another added: 'The lighting is on another whole new level of cheapness,' while someone else complained it is a 'great collection ruined by a horrible campaign and a bad model'.

One more commenter chimed in: 'The make-up doesn't suit her... needs someone with cheekbones!!'

Another fashion fan explained bluntly: 'There is no tension in her body. She just stands there. It really bugs me.

'It's almost the 50th anniversary of Karl at Fendi and this is no way to celebrate. That house deserves more and Kendall deserves nothing. She's not a model. Period.'

Despite the criticisms, many believe Kendall is the next runner up for a Chanel campaign - following in the footsteps of Cara Delevingne and Blake Lively.

'The 19-year-old already appeared in the campaign for Karl's eponymous line and now that she's fronting Fendi, the only thing left is for her to get a Chanel campaign! And she WILL! What's left? Basically an American Vogue cover,' wrote Perez Hilton.

Indeed, Kendall has she walked every Chanel runway since fall 2014 - and just last week closed the Chanel Couture Show as the famous bride.

The reality star also features in a newly-released lingerie campaign for Calvin Klein, which sees her posing topless in one shot, while in others she can be seen modeling a black lace bra.

Also in the campaign are Joan Smalls, Isabeli Fontana and Edita Vilkeviciute.

Speaking to WWD about the shoot she said: 'It was super fun. Every girl loves posing in her underwear. It’s always fun to do that.'I’m close with Joan, and me and all the girls are friends.'

The campaign features individual portraits of the models who are all wearing an assortment of embroidered lace sling balconettes, chemises and bodysuits which are designed to enhance the cleavage.

Sorry fashion critics, it looks likes she's here to stay for a while longer.
