I have no idea what to call this type of shoe, but they're very rough and urban. They make me think of steel industries, the industrial process and constructional workers.

Better title suggestions are very welcomed:flower:

Have any of you tried this? and if you have, was it difficult walking in them? because the Acne especially look very hard to walk in:unsure:

Acne did this wonderfully

Ooh, I love this. I always like if there's something special or different about the heel itself on high heels. Like McQueen's sculptured heels, the DSquared spine heels or the Rodarte/Kirkwood ones.
This industrial heel thing looks more elegant. I especially like the ones at Lanvin. I think they all look difficult to walk in though!

Geez. Those look terrifying! But despite the fact that I'd never wear that kind of heel (I rarely venture into those heights as it is!) I think they're quite refreshing from all the clunk and chunk that's been reigning for the last couple of years. They're slightly understated, which I find much more interesting than making an outfit be about the shoes.

the Lanvin shoes look so cool but so painful to wear at the same time.

^they do look very painful, but I still can't understand how those first three pairs of Acnes work. I may have to swing by and try them on.

Unspoiledbird - I agree! They're very refreshing and stand out from what we've been seeing.

They have a rawness to them that is really current looking, but I think they need to be either maneuvered or worn correctly so they don't come off as looking a bit sl*tty.

The runway ones look quite cute. But i don't think i would ever be able to walk in them though.^_^

Hardware heels? I don't know. It's something that I would buy and display in a glass case in my house as art, but I don't think that, practically, I would ever be able to wear them. I looooove the Lanvin ones though.

Hate it. Look weird and totally.. I don't know the word either... Velvet boot with thin metal stick instead of finish-the-shoe heel? Seriously??

It does have an interesting look but I agree it looks quite painful to wear

Aww they look painful. Interesting though. especially the Lanvin one. I suppose there needs to be the bottom band for support, otherwise you wouldn't be able to walk

I really admire them from a far, but I don't think I could ever bring myself to wear them. The sheer thought of what I have already put my poor feet through - i don't think I could put my feet through that kind of stress!

I think they could be really beautiful though, despite their industrial roots.

Don't like these ... for one thing the proportions are off on many of them, and more importantly they look like weapons, which is not what I want to wear. Although after today at work I may be changing my mind on that anytime now :p

I remember there being quite a mix of opinions on these shoes from Gianfranco Ferre S/S 10.
I quite enjoy the metal cuff behind the heel myself.

Don't forget McQueen's. His were very exaggerated of course, but shows us how some designers are pushing forward for new footwear.

The Ferre ones that Crying Diamonds posted are by far the best I've seen. They're insanely chic and still so wearable.

I love anything industrial and raw looking and I've noticed this has become a mini-trend in shoes. The acne ones are absolutely terrible to walk in, just putting my feet in made my ankles tremble.
Didn't some models refuse to wear the Lanvin shoes?

The ones by Alexander McQueen look a lot more stable to walk in and super fashionable. I would wear them with pleasure!

Interesting trend! I like the Acne ones with the 3 "prongs". The Ferre ones look very cool as well.

I haven't tried them on, but I don't think that the heel itself would make the shoe significantly more uncomfortable. As long as your foot was given full support, you should be fine.

I'd love to try them out! :)
