The London Hair Salon Recommendation Thread

I think it depends what kind of salon you like. I like my salon in Shoreditch because i get a goodvibe from my hairdresser, they have a lovely layout and they give you free drinks :woot:

In South Ken isn't Hari's supposed to be great?

Headlines Salon London

Has anyone ever heard of the "Headlines" salon in London? My mum used to get her hair done there in the 80's and always raved about how good they were. I'm going to be in London next month and haven't got much to do, so I thought it would be fun to stop in there for a trim, however, I can't find a single bit of information about it on the web. I have no idea where it's located or even if its still in business. All I know is that it's located in Chelsea (I think) and it was made famous in the early 1980s when Lady Diana had her hair done there...

Cobella, Selfridges - London

Hi guys,

I am hoping someone might of had their hair cut at Cobella in Selfridges as I am getting my hair cut there next and I am wondering if they are any good?

I am getting it cut with the Art Director - so the highest one...but scared in case they mess up my hair.

Hope someone can help?

The Best Hair Salons

I'm curious to hear people's opinions of hair salons, whether they are regulars or had a one-off experience. I'm so fed up of going to get my hair cut and styled and coming away with a look I didn't want.
Where are the best hair stylists?
Who does the best colouring?
Who does the best cuts?
I'm interested mainly in salons in London.
Which salons seem to have the best stylists to collaborate with? Do you acheive the look you want?

Love to hear:flower:

Unfortunately Olivier Dachkin salons aren't in London. I wish they were. They sound fantastic! Thanks Katarina for the tip:flower:

I thought Cobella in Selfridges is fantastic - the hair stylist I had was extremely helpful and gave me great advice! She couldn't do the hair-cut I wanted because I need to grow it some more at the side (unless I want another mullet - yet again), so she told me to grow it and that there was no need to charge me money when it isn't going to change my hair style. She booked me an appointment for October by then the sides will have grown, plus she cut my fringe for free and offered to trim the ends for free also! Excellent hair stylist I thought!

Martyn Maxey or Taylor Taylor?

im in a dilemma girls! i've heard equally good reviews about the salons in london -martyn maxey (martyn himself) and taylor taylor (antony).. would like to hear any of ur experiences! with cut and colour.

i dont like my hair all thinned out.. thanks!

hey! I'm a client at Taylor Taylor and love it there!! Bradley (the owner) does my hair there and he is the best. It's such a warm welcoming friendly vibe there. I don't know if I've ever met antony, I don't think he's ever cut my hair there but they are all good. I mean, I prefer Bradley but he's harder to get now. Anyway, definately my fav. place. Plus you get free drinks and it's a BEAUTIFUL salon. They just redid it. The room where they wash your hair is tiled in gold. It's beautiful. Go to taylor taylor!

ooh chanel - do you go there as well?!

only a few times . . havn't been recently tho. the new decor sounds fab!
but yes def. recommend them . . they always get wht i'm after & style it right :woot:

yes the new place is great and I find it quite welcoming there (and i'm no hoxton hipster. I dress pretty conservatively). Hope it goes well!

def. they're v.friendly i find? . . no pretentiousness like you sometimes find . .

yes exactly. All the staff seem to genuinely like each other and get along and that creates the great vibe there. Plus like i said, the new salon is beautiful. ps chanel I saw a girl who looked VERY similar to you yesterday on the train (sitting beside me) and she had great style as well (just like you!) so you know, if you were around South London yesterday maybe we crossed paths.
