Anyone else around here love The Mars Volta too? They're probably one of my favorite band right now and I love Cedric and Omar's style.

I really do not get whats so great about this band? and it seems every other person i know loves them.

i was big on them before, but haven't listened to them much lately. maybe they're just good at particular times.

i saw them once and i wasnt very impressed. cant say i'm a fan.

i really liked At the drive-in though.

I dunno, ATD-I doesn't do it for me. I'm obsessed with with Cassandra Gemini (last song on Frances The Mute). The song is simply amazing and it also happens to be 32 minutes long

At the drive-in was a bit dark and a lot more interesting than the mars volta, they way they use their influences now is disgusting, same for the recent sound of omar's voice, which used to sound flawless in ATDI's recordings and now it's overwhelmingly exaggerated..

I think TMV is just as dark. HAve you checked out Frances The Mute? I also think Cedric (Omar is the guitarist) is great on all the TMV songs.

i've loved the mars volta since they started, they're absolutely brilliant..and omar is such a fox!

so i saw mars volta live for the first time last night, and i was soooo very impressed!! The guys put on the best show i've seen, it was pure mars at it best. There was something about there performance that reminded me of the rockstars from the 70s, they definately have soul. Needless to says i'm an even bigger fan now and Cedric is my hero!

I think they're like the Grateful Dead, awesome live but their studio work sucks.
