I get the impression that New York Models is a better agency because it seems to have more successful girls but I'm not positive.

Sort of random question, but is it really true that in London, Models 1 have some sort of exclusive 'scouting right' to Topshop and only Storm gets to scout at H&M? I mean, how would they know if someone's a scout and once in the store prevent them from approaching another customer?

Race is made up mostly of bookers and girls formerly with Karins. Iza Olak is probably their top girl. They are very new so hard to evaluate what the agency is like but based on their work at Karins, it's an ok agency. There are definitely better agencies but also definitely worse. Just check around with other agencies, see what they have to say about you then choose the agency you feel most comfortable with, whose goals are most compatible with yours and who you feel will maximize your potential.

Hmm.... Unlikely...

Though, I read an interview with a scout from Models 1 and there she says she does mostly scout at Topshop...

That's weird they can just have the model lie and sawy we discovered her somewhere else. Both agencies are great so I wouldn't mind being scouted by either.

aHHH I am sick so I cant meet with any agencies till I am better.. So many agencies dont take girls if they have been with someone else.. its crazy I had no idea. I am runnin gout of options.. on who to see. I have seen Major, Trump ( maybe could go back it was a year ago when I first started) DNA, WOmen liked me but I was too old to be with Supreme and not developed enough for women, Next said I was too in between there boards. ( cuz I am skinny with big boobs lol) ford all liked me but one of the bookers.. I think because she was angrey that I showed up cuz I thought I had an appointment and I didnt I saw the wrong person she was just acted like she was pissed the whole time. race who are interested NY model who are interested. atleast they were b4. Marylin wouldnt even see me because I was with Elite before one wouldnt either.. I SOOOOOOO wish I could be with Marylin I think if they saw me they would like me.. totally not feeling modeling right now.. anyone with any advice???

ambermitchell- why wouldnt marilyn see you is there some rival btw elite and marilyn? im confused anways how tall are u? and no dont lye about your age cause one day they will find out, you can never lye through your career and be confident with yourslef =) i think thats the secret to modeling anways

They don't take you if you have been with another agency already? But why? I don't get it. With wich agency have you been before?

Ok, now let's come to my problem
I have a really good mother agency. The main booker isn't really pushing me, so that i got almost all of my jobs through castings and GoSees, some other girls get them over him. When i go abroad, i get sh*tty agencies what i hate. And i do have potential. My agency didn't discover me, i went to them and 3 others wanted me to so i feel like i don't owe them anything because i'm working pretty well and i'm not in debt.
Sooo... In summer i'd like to go to NY and look for an agency there. I wouldn' call my mother agency, my mother agency but my austrian agency. I wouldn't have to pay more comission and maybe if a really good agency takes me i could switch to them, if all the bookers like me A LOT.

What do you think of my ideas and plans?
Have you been going through something similar?

I hope someone can help me.

no.. I was with Elite before and when they find that out they thought.. oo she was already with someone in new york she's not new she's seen all th clients there's nothing we can do for her.. thats how it is in the biZ. and ya alot of girls I know are told by the agency to lie about there age. Even though I didnt do anything at Elite really.. I haven't done that much in modeling and I haven't in gone to one single show casting for fashion week.. even though I have booked 2 shows last season.. but thats only by some freak connection the casting director saw me and liekd me enough to put me in the show.. anyways modeling is blahhh.. I am 5 10 1/2 inches by the way....

Does anyone have any experience with SMG (Seattle Models Guild)? It's one of my local agencies--I had been to their open call a few years ago, and they said that they were interested and to keep checking back after I got my braces off. I met with the scouting director of Elite NY this February, and she said to send pictures again when I got my braces off, keep checking back with her to see how my face develops within the next year (I'm still young-ish looking at newly 17). Well..the braces are off. Is SMG worth pursuing, or should I hold out for the possibility of Elite or another New York or LA based agency? I know that you can have more than one agency, but still. Advice much appreciated!

ok.. I know excalty who you are talking about at Elite.. and let me tell u what.. shop around in new york right now.. someone else will take u and they might be better.. sometimes if u look like a girl they already have they will tell u to wait because they dont want the compettion or the girl might get old or fat and leave and then u will be the back up.. Elite told me that when I was in 7th grade to wait.. and then I didnt get signed till I gradatued high school and it was only because I looked like another model they had to let go becuase she got caught smuggleing drugs across the country on an air plane... so seriously screw settle shop around in NY someone else will take u for sure.. and then let Elite know u have other offers.. then it might make them hurry up with there decision.
