What do you guys think? To me it has a sort of "boho feel" without the sloppyness, and a feminine, sleek cowboy likeness to it.

I'm thinking its like the wild wild west? Cowboys and the like.

I think she's referring the prairie/cowgirl look... the new frontier as in western settlers in the US. Is that correct VintagePearls?

:flower:

Edit - yeah... what Gincat said  Slow posting...

^ ok... now i see, thanks curious.... :flower:

personnally, this trend is in a huge and awful way on the runways..... and i am definitely not going to be into all this nonsense... got enough of the ugly boho.... now this.......

*runs away screaming*

this stuff completely overlaps the victorian/edwardian/neogothic trend...
it's all the same elements for the most part...
just styled a little differently and with fringe added here and there....

^_^...

I'm not sure exactly what they meant by the new fronteir... that was the title off of style.com ;)

[EDIT] Yes, the new frontier is I guess a US term (in this case). It was in the 1800's arround the time of Laura Ingles Wilder (an author). With praries and cowboys, I believe. I think of fronteir land at DisneyWorld (Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad... haha, I'm a geekburger)

Thank you for posting more pics, mb :flower:

I didn't see some of those. I love one of the purses

^no problem. My favorites are the Vikrot and Rolf blouse, the Louis Vuitton ostrich boot, and the Gucci ones as well.

How do people not know about the Frontier? Come on, it's manifest destiny!

I like this version better than the more straight-forward way it was a few years back. This version is less costumy.

I think that I would know a fair amount about the source any fashion trend that was taken out of a period from Greek history. Not necessarily every era, but a few.

It's just that there have been a lot of movies and TV shows that were based in the Frontier days. Some that come to mind are Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman, Back to the Future 3, Into the West, Little House on the Prarie, and the women's fashion in pretty much any cowboy movie.
