I've been experimenting for the past few days with 8 rolls of different black fabrics and I now have 4 full chic, elegantly new-Gothic outfits and a few accessories (I especially like a layered, ruffled collar that will look so good over a fitted jacket)

I'll try to get them on a mannequin and get some pics to post! :D I've never had so much fun, and feel very proud of myself!

thx dosV....was looking at thes pics in the paper just now.....

Thanks a lot for the great articles DosViolines! Love the Selma Blair photoshoot!!

goth has officially gone mainstream...
it is THE biggest story for fall 2005...

i have to say that it is a great time in nyc these days....
people on the streets look incredible...
people are really understanding and wearing this...
this is one trend that i hope will turn into a longterm classic style...
as it pretty much has always been my style....
...

i saw them in the ad on the side of a phone booth an thought of you...
i hope you get a camera for christmas...:flower:

Must be nice to live someplace where other people are into fashion ;) I haven't seen anyone here wearing this.

Shoes are doing well ... ask me about my feet  I can't be bothered to change shoes for driving ... you can see a couple "rub" spots, not unusual for any velvet ... I consider it patina. I don't think they're going to be any worse than suede & quite possibly better. They're well made, with a rubber tip under the toe (complete with Ferragamo logo ) ... problem I'm having is just my usual with Ferragamo, the last isn't intended for my foot--the elastic is too tight, but yet the shoes still slip a bit when I walk at times, so I'm afraid to have it let out. First time I wore them I actually took a Motrin toward the end of the day :innocent:

it's great!...longer than what i am thinking of doing...
i love that you left the edges reaw...
if it was me...i would throw it in the washing machine and really distress it...
but i am also the girl who throws leather boots in the washer...:innocent:...

...

congrats!!!...
now where's the rest?!?!...

I'm glad everyone enjoyed it ^_^

And don't worry about the typo softgrey, I didn't even notice it ;)

stilista, that collar is fantastic! Karma :flower:

 I'm so surprised everyone liked the collar! Thanks!! :D You guys are so encouraging!!

I'm a bit scared to throw it in the washing machine, SoftGrey! The threads coming off the chiffon are so bad they will probably strangle me the first time I wear it, so can't imagine what it will be like when it comes out the machine!! But now you've mentioned it, I'm feeling like I should!!

The nytimes editorial featuring Selma Blair is so amazing..... It inspired me to buy SUPER sheer dark grey or black tights and rip them very lightly all the way to make lines..... and wear it with detailed black dresses.......
