The picture of the child in black reminded me of a dress I had as a child ... it was black velvet with an antique (at least looking) lace collar. And I still remember (I was 5, 6, 7, that timeframe) how odd and different it felt to wear that heavy black velvet. And I don't think my mother liked my wearing black, thought children shouldn't. It really says something about the meaning and power of black that it seems so antithetical to children ...![]()
