The New Gothic / Neogoth

I've gotten lots of compliments on individual pieces ... I don't think anyone's really commented on the overall look. I do get a lot of looks when I do the head-to-toe elegant black. I've been a bit dressier than usual, so probably some peeps at work think I'm interviewing  It was on the cover of our style section too, but I don't think it's very widely read

ta-ta I would really love to see some pictures of what you wear, pretty please? It always sounds lovely. What work do you do? Because you mention a style section...a magazine?

Thanks, Quirky ... I'm working on it ;) I hate spending $$$ on technology (you already know what I don't hate spending it on ), so I've asked for GCs I can use for a digital camera for Christmas. I work in high tech (but I didn't get that hardware gene like most of my coworkers) ... I was just saying that neo Gothic was on the cover of our style section in the paper too ... the model was wearing Louis Vuitton. It doesn't seem to have had much of an impact on the general population though  I did see someone dressed in all black when I was out shopping last night--I did a double-take ;)

However, someone is obviously doing it because they promptly bought out all the black DKNY Vintage Lace tights at the new Nordstrom's. It's a really cool pattern, looks a bit destroyed. I have looked at other stores for it, with no success so far. If anyone knows where I can get any, I would be most grateful :flower:

This trend has totally passed Rotterdam by.Thank somebody, because boy,did they go for the boho, and go for it in a very ugly, nauseating way.

Nope,Rotterdam is wearing what it always wears...jeans,pastel pink or baby blue jumpers, cream scarves, windbreakers or anoraks, and Uggs, except this season the Uggs have pom-poms.

I cannot find any pretty lace tights in this town.I cannot find any royal blue ones either, but that's beside the point.

I wonder how come when the Low Countries split, the Belgians got all the fashion genes

So I look at this thread, and at British fashion magazines,to get some inspiration:D .

HAHAHA!!!!

the goth style is not really appealing to me, only because so many people try so hard to immitate it, that they just end up looking like idiots and ruin the style for everyone else

Look at what I found :woot:: lipbalm for the nouveau goth!

smoother than balm."

Got me thinking ... isn't practically all lip balm vegan, with the exception of stuff like Burts' Bees? :D Have to admit, though, while I'm not a huge fan of marketing in general, this is good stuff.

it's my version...:p
it all gets very 'pretty' once you take all the heavy blk away...
but i still needed some black to 'anchor' it...

* i also wore a blk ruffle scarf
and a blk wool coat which i refer to as my 'mary poppins' coat...

^^^ Beautiful :) Would like to see more of her work. She looks a bit reminiscent of Charlotte Gainsbourg herself:p .
