This has some weeks, but I was surprised it wasn't posted. Also noticed who made this portfolio. I was like "did I read well?". Nachtwey is a war photographer very well known for his raw portaits of conflicts and social crisis (very hard to see if you're sensitive). Kathy Ryan, the editor of photography of TNYTM always ask serious photojournalist to make the award season series every year (like W, but better).

absolutely in love with this concept and photography. well done.

I doubt is Nachtwey style. His photographs are really really raw stuff. I'm surprised he did this one.

My exact thought! Very few photographers would shoot raw stuff since Bruce Weber is kinda retiring.

he's a war photographer. I used to buy National Geographic, read and interview there and googled his work. I was shocked and devastated. I avoid to see those images again.

This is good! I am usually not interested in indie-like spreads with raw-looking celebrities standing in ugly settings, but these photographs and quotes are engaging.
And Bradley looks very handsome - not the polished Hollywood type of handsome, but like a good-looking ordinary guy you can see in a bank or a coffee shop.
Thanks for posting, @ivano.

They made it every year. The photo editor call a prestious photographer from journalism or arts, and ask to them to photograph the award season stars. Their first issues with these theme were made by Inez and Vinoodh, and then they start to do this experiment. The photographer they pick never made celebrity portrait or fashion before. There's a similar themed issue with the 25 most important musicians of the year.

Prestigious* sorry. I'm writing as I can because I'm recovering! I forgot to say about war photography, which sadly I know well, that I can't believe such horribles things happens to millions and millions of persons and animals while we are living our normal lives. I stopped buying Nat Geo because I was in pain and hopeless to see what's going on. Sounds shallow, but I moved to Vogue and ELLE because I wanted to rest my mind. I'm Asperger, so I'm beyond shocked of reality. I need to believe the good reasons. In the same world of the brutal horrors there's beauty, and I'm living for that because it's the remedy for all the tragedies and my personal sadest moments as well. BUT, we should't look to other way, we should take actions to change the lives of the ones that are having the worst time.

do we have this pics in high resolution somewhere?
