The Official Golden Globes 2006 Thread

If I was accepting an award from Leonardo I'd probably want to jump him. I'd say something like "And the Leonardo DiCaprio goes to.... ME!!!!!!!!!!!!"

What did Joaquin say? In the one clip I saw, he was actually being funny and I had pegged him as the broody type. It was cool

Oh and Johnny and Vanessa are officially on the wrong side of the hobo/boho divide

You know this is amazing. I thought Leonardo fans didn't exist anymore, that we were a dying breed.

He sure is, I am so glad for him and he's just too cool, shy and gorgeous. He's so underrated, just check out Gladiator,To die for, Walk the line,The Village(love him there).....and so on and on.....

After Gladiator I wished I had a brother. Ahem.
After Quills I wished I had a priest. Same as above.

He opened his speech with...
"Who would've ever thought I'd win in the comedy or musical category?!"

BTW, glad to see a Joaquin fan!!!

Joaquin Phoenix and his mother

I don't think this is his mother. Joaquin's mother has a very short haircut, is much skinnier, and I believe taller.

I've always loved him. He's a great actor with a very cheerful personality. Deep thinker too. Very much an average guy I think.

Just went through the thread: I loved Diane Kruger and Kate Beckinsale's choices :woot: Not too keen on Keira's dress, but her makeup was perfect :flower:

^^Agree on Diane and Kate

Can't get over the fact that Heath ledger did not win! What more can you ask for?He was great and incredibly powerful, couldn't stop crying in 3 scenes and it was all so sincere. I understand Jake is totally overshadowed by Heath's performance and I know Capote is outstanding but Heath is just...he doesn't portray Ennis cause he's Ennis for 2 hours. I am convinced he'll take the Oscar home and I'll have 500 euros for my pocket cause I am 100% sure.

Oh and has anyone noticed that that annoying Scarlet Johannsen has no neck? And can someone assasinate either Emmy Rossum or Anne Hathaway because I can't take moronic grinning clones.
She does have a neck. It just happens to be half covered by two painful looking tumescences .
Update: a reliable source just informed me those are her boobs
Just horrific!
I guess I just failed the Fashionista test. I just can begin to understand why that kind of thing is even news. If any of those girls stop wearing Chanel just because of that, they would only display bad taste IMO. Just don't get it, sorry.

 I hadn't seen that ones (posted by Lolita Bonita on page 55).

Did Charlize use to have a South African accent? Wow, never knew that O_o

Yes, she did. And it's not that I'm a fan of Gwyn - even though I like what she wears now and then. This particular issue was interesting to me because of Charlize and because some people in South Africa do think she is pretentious because of her 'adopted' American accent. But perhaps she wouldn't be where she is today if she had retained her South African accent?
