Of course the farm theme is a perfect excuse for Karl to use it, but he must have know what he was doing, as Yves famously favored wheat bouquets and he had used that many many times during his career (the day he was buried, Catherine Deneuve put one over his coffin).
If Karl had any human feelings at all, I would think this is some sort of homage, just one year after Saint Laurent's death.
