^Thanks for the link, it looks like a great site. Maybe I am missing something is but I can't do the search - I can't find a search box and there is a page to search by magazine, but the function is under construction. Do you have links to the specific eds or the starting page of the eds, I also browsed from the main page and went back a few and couldn't find them (they may have been there I just didn't realize it)? Thanks.

I don't know if Glamour is doing a full out issue, but they do have a resident plus-sized columnist who does a little piece each month on a different fashion related topic. I don't regularly read Glamour, but last month it was on finding leather boots to fit calves, and it was a good article because lots of people have boot-calf issues (ie plus sized, regular sized, athletes, etc.)

US MarieClaire also has a plus-sized columnist every month. I really like her :)

Left column, second box down: Search Everything RR. Just enter whatever search words you like: model name, photographer, magazine, company - it doesn't search on tags, categories or labels, it goes through actual content!

Plus size fashionistas

Are any of you lot plus sized? Or at least not a stick thin model type?

I'm curious because I'm not skinny and the whole plus size thing really interests me.

Some clothes look fabulous on a smaller frame. Some clothes need a curvier body. However, I don't want the clothes I'm going to wear modeled on someone, forgive the word, fat.

Yes I might be smaller than that person, I might be bigger. But I want something to aspire to. If all size 16(uk) clothes were modeled on size 16 girls I'd never buy anything.

I wondered how you feel about it.

Also are there any plus size/curvy girls on Chictopia and Lookbook.nu (other than me, of course. <3)

Ok, I'm not 'fat', I am size 38 (European size), size 10 (US), but I hate my belly. I have a small back (32 in bra size) and I don't mind my a**, or my legs, if only my belly would be flat. It's just always there, very visible in every narrow-fitted shirt I wear. And when I've eaten, it's like twice the size it usually is. I like curves, but I feel like I'm not good in proportion. And never has been, even as a kid, when I didn't have any fat, my stomach and belly always stood out. Very strange. And I hate it!

me? No, no twitter yet, i'll start with the blog thing first, see or people are interested :)

Thanks for the compliment!

You look great - I love your style :D I hope you'll get a Twitter ;)

I'm right in-between "normal" sizes and plus-sizes which is a rather annoying place to be IMO. I find that fashion seems to be going to extremes - either people are going for the size 0 look (I'll never be able to achieve that and I don't want to either) or they're plus-size all-over. My and my size 12 muffin-top and h-cup boobs don't really fit in anywhere, it seems.. I personally LOVE bigger models being shown in magazines though. I find it very inspiring seeing women of all sizes styled, made up and looking great - instead of the usual thin and tall ones. My goal isn't necessarily looking thinner but better, so models don't need to look slim in order to inspire me.

Thanks frk-frost, i'll let you know !

Monita, have you ever thought of modelling? I think you would get interest. Call Dominique Models in Brussels...their larger models are all working a lot and it's a highly regarded agency.

I'm following you ^_^

Personnaly I find it very hard putting outfits together so you look stylish. I usually end up looking plain boring and plain  It's always great to find inspiration from someone who seems to do it effortlessly ;)

the last look posted by covered is absolutely fabulous! Monita you are very stylish you should begin a career as a plus sized stylist you seem to be able to pick exactly what works

West Africans and Africans in general celebrate being plus sized. Here are some street style pics from Nigeria

Don't know if anyone here has heard of Full Figured Fashion Week in NYC but they have some shows during the week and photos are now online...it even got covered by
Vogue Italia "Curvy". Google for more photos, there are tons online but unfortunately the website for FFFW doesn't have it's own gallery up yet.

The official photographer's site is here
