The Poetry Corner

heres something a friends younger sister wrote and asked me for my opiinion...
its good but a little out of focus...and kind of sad coming from a 13 year old
ii keep telling myself that she'll grow up to learn otherwise and know how wrong it is...

"for men"

I don’t know when I
Stopped believing in love
And realized it was just momentary attraction
For men
I don’t know when I
Stopped believing in fairytales
And realized they were just chances to flex muscles
For men
I don’t know when I
Stopped waiting for my soulmate
And realized it was the same as a new bedmate
For men
I don’t know when I
Stopped dreaming of wishes coming true
And realized a star to wish on was just a big shiny thing in the sky
For men
I don’t know when I
Stopped thinking of sex like making love
And realized it was just an itch to scratch
For men
I don’t know when my
Innocence and faith and naiveté
Slipped away in one fell swoop
And I realized I was just easy to fool
For men
I don’t know how, why and when
But somewhere along the lines
I learned and suffered of their way
And realized how damn easy life is
For men

A thirteen year old ??

For MEN ? she calls the boys her age..MEN ??

It's sort of sad....

Like a warm little wind
Your words touched my ears
And then I wanted to fly...

Like a warm little wind
You sat next to me
And the world seemed so bright...

Like a warm little wind...

Ive oppened my eyes
And the world became black

Like a warm little wind
That never came back...

My heart became ice.

 I have just composed it...

Where I live they generally aren't their own age... :innocent:

It's pretty scary actually - I think there's a club of 18/19 year-old boys (who invariably wear leather trenchcoats) who live on what is called 'The Green' (a rather seedy old square in the city centre) and seduce younger girls (who invariably wear black lipstick and nail varnish).

'best friend'

i love you more
than you'll ever know
i want to be with you
wherever you go
when we're together
i forget my problems
i can enjoy a moment
with no sorrows
If you died today
i dont know what i'd do
i want to spend
my life with you
we're not lovers
we're just friends
but we'll stick together
till the end
im happy for you
and you're happy for me
we kick *** everywhere
esepcially the partyyy
i love you i love you
i love you i do
my best friend ever
I LOVE YOU!

"we kick *** everywhere
esepcially the partyyy"

everything was sweet till that burst out. :woot:

$8

It's lunch hour
And I have eight dollars
As I walk to get food
I come across a small book shop
Naturally I walk in
I have eight dollars

I pick up a book
A book of Bukowski's poetry
I turn the pages
Listening to that peculiar sound
That only turning pages of a book can make

I pick a poem at random
It's beautiful
It costs eight dollars

Juxtaposition of values
Fulfill your soul
Or fulfill your stomach
And 99% would do the latter

My stomach grumbles as I think
As I ponder, how can it be?
A book of poetry
Beauty defined

Inspiration, soulful, intelligent, true
Costs as much as a mediocre meal
That you'll forget in a few hours
How can that be?

With that dilemma in mind
I, holding the book in my hand
Explain my situation to the owner

Thank God for small book shops
I buy the book for seven-fifty
I walk across the street
And buy a bagel - fifty cents
And a glass of tap water - free

This will last me four hours, till I get home
The book will last a lifetime

 ....and that is why i love you my friend... :flower:

you did the right thing....

Tijd heel alle wonden
Tijd brengt ons leed
Fijn doch vervelend
Een tegenstrijdig gebeuren
De eeuwigheid van een seconde
In de ogen van jouw schoonheid
In de eeuwigheid van jouw schoonheid
Goede tijden...
Zoals in vergane tijden

Time heals all wounds
Time brings us suffering
Pleasurous though annoying
A phenomena of contradiction
The eternity of a second
In the beauty of your eyes
In the eternity of your eyes
Good times...
Like old times

Schoonheid
Een persoonlijk begrip
De perfectie van een gedachte
De perfectie van een fantasie
Het zien van perfectie in imperfectie
Schoonheid is onverklaarbaar
Betoverend
Overweldigend
Schoonheid is

Beauty
A word of personal interpretation
The perfection of a thought
The perfection of a fantasy
Seeing perfection in imperfection
Beauty is unexplainable
Enchanting
It takes you over
Beauty is
