The Shu Uemura Makeup Thread

Shu Uemura and Victor & Rolf collaboration.

glamourmagazine.co.uk
A "chance to escape from reality" is the focus of a new collaboration between Shu Uemura and Viktor & Rolf, the latter of which has created three amazing sets of false lashes for the make-up giant's Tokyo Lash Bars. Inspired by Marcel Marceau (the inventor of pantomime), the haute couture eyelashes transform everyday make-up into spectacular fashion accessories. All three styles - Wing, Rhomba and Swirl - are elegant and graphic, reflecting the motifs of the fashion duo's spring/summer 2008 collection.

Hello, I thought I'd put this up in this thread
According to then note at the end of the article, apparently Shu Uemura products haven't been available in Australia until this year September! My mum bought Shu Uemura products from HK a long time ago, back when I hardly knew anything about fashion- cept that it was something to do with clothes  Anyway, here it is!

I just recently purchased the Face Architect foundation after readings great reviews for it on makeupalley, and it's absolutely amazing. There's so much coverage but it feels so light <3

I want to try that, but the shades seem all so dark. Do you know if they do an alabaster type shade for the very pale ladies. Also, is the coverage pretty full?

Well I don't know about the lighter shades, but as far as coverage goes, it's pretty fantastic. My skin's still recovering from years of terrible skin care and with this, I can even sometimes forgo concealer. I think the best part though is that even though the coverage is pretty full, it feels pretty light. Hope that helps!

Has anyone had problems with the curler? I've had a couple but lately I've been noticing a couple of eyelash issues. I have very long lashes (but very straight, hence the curler) and I noticed a month or so ago that my lower lashes on the outer corner of one of my eyes were quite sparse, esp. compared to my other eye. I just assumed that it was my curler and that after accidentally pinching the outer lower lashes, they feel out/got pulled out. Now on my upper lid lashes I can't tell if they are a bit thinner or I'm just being paranoid. I'm sure it's not my mascara since it's not on both eyes. I suppose it could be some sort of disease but sometimes the curler does pinch my lashes so just wondering if anyone else has experience this....

They just unveiled their new/first Australian counter in David Jones last friday!!!
I'm scared of wasting money there.... :ninja:
I love the Viktor & Rolf lashes with the lace scalloped edges...they have a beautiful picture of them on display but you can't buy them :(

Meg- I don't use eyelash curlers so I'm not sure... but if it were the curler, how come it ruined only one set of lashes?

I think I want the H9 Hard Brow Pencil...anyone here use it? The colours seem a bit confusing to me

Can I ask, does anyone have the refillable eyeliner? I can't seem to find it in the uk and get a price for it, if it's stupid in the uk I may as well buy it from abroad and get it shipped.

Well I was thinking the way I held it meant that it was pulling out the eyelashes only on one side, as opposed to my mascara which is used on both sides. That said, now i'm really paranoid that my eyelashes are less full and long so it may in fact be a mascara issue (or some sort of eyelash disease)

Does anybody know what is the price of the eyelash curler in Italy???

Suka.. there's a Shu Uemura Store in Milano.. you could call them and find out :flower:

yeah! That's a good idea... but I don't speak italian....:(

the might speak english.. afterall the shop is located in an area with a lot of tourist..

Pink was wearing the paper clip lashes in her new music video 'sober!' I got really excited when I saw them :D. I'm assuming they're from Shu Uemura, because where else could you get such creative lashes?
