i hope i got this right. My moodboard is about a "Shabby Chic" trend but instead of furnishing i went with clothes, and it has the elements that make the whole look like the peeptoes and the brooches. I designed my own textiles based on big floral prints with the whole "granny look" in mind but trying to make it more modern. i also made the styling, with the Louboutins and Manolos and the hair.

hey do I have to make my design on computer??!?! can't it be drawn??!

NOO
its ok to make it on computer but I prefer to make it drawn!! LOL Im better drawing in pencil than in computer!

no problem, if it's drawn by hand or done on computer :)
are you just drawing from your imagination though? aaron95

glad you guys are posting!

Ill make the mood board on the computer and the clothing by hand!;)

in illustrator, i have a layer of the outfit with the flat print, then i put a second layer on top with b&w shading and set it to darken or multiply mode of transparency.

this seemed like a fun theme, so I joined! Or with other words, schools out for summer so I have time to join!

And excuse my drawings this time, I couldn't find my inking pen so I went sort of mad and didn't put an effort on pencil sketches or the watercolour

So about my work...
my colour scheme is as you can see, very browinsh and yellowish. I found lots of inspiration in birds, I like the story of a young art student (who loves to take pictures) and work parttime at some museum handeling the stuffed birds.

the first dress is the hawk: the dress is and everyday dress in cotton, with darkbrowncollar and sleves.

then we have my fav, the owl, its a tafetacoat with black zipper and its printed like an owl.

then a evning dress, I'm not so pleased with it, with tube linning and in black velvet. the minicape and the gloves is in satin (this is the eagle, but its hard to see ^_^)

These are gorgeous Perfect10. i keep meaning to enter the game but am too shy to post my drawings...

^^ Thx irresistivel!!! But post yours any way, I bet they aren't that bad... and beside, it isn't the drawings that being judged in this game, only the designs! pls post, the more the merrier!!!!

here is my entry, JUST IN TIME haha Im not that good at blending images on the PC but I tried my best! and also I had to take pics of my designs because my scanner seems to be F***ED up but I tried my best:

Mood Board:

Clothing:

Description:

I was inspired by the sea, fish, seashells, Greek myths and Togas ;) my color palette is BLUE WITH BLUE and some oranges, browns yellows but the main one is BLUE.

FIRST OUTFIT, is inspired by that "fancy" fish on the center of the MB I tried to make the bottom of the dress look as big and fancy as the tail, also the colors, the bag is "seashell like", the peep toes have an "urchin" mad of feathers in the front, the collar and the headband are made of blue and pale pink stones.

SECOND OUTFIT, its a bikini with waves print on both pieces, the Sandals are high cork heeled with two different blues, the sarong is made of beige silk and in the belt has a greek design, the barrette is a big orange metalic flower, also Oversize black shades with a wooden frame, and I made a Beach Tote with a marine image and a mermaid's tail, it also has a charm of little fish and a big Shell.

THIRD OUTFIT, its a dress inspired by the Greek TOGA, its made in a pale blue and it has a starfish in the shoulder grabbing that little piece of fabric hanging at the back, the headpiece is made of light orange stones, the stilettos are made of blue alligator skin simulating fish skin, and the bag is faded blue with a mix of seashells in the left side.

hahaha and the funniest is that I searched on google that way "fancy fish" hhahah

I guess I don't have a theme in the traditional sense as much as I have a collection with a central aesthetic, but here goes. :flower:
My Mood Board:

Notes from top left going clockwise: Chair by Charles and Ray Eames, Palais Garnier, Peggy Guggenheim in Paul Poiret, Bed by Hella Jongerius, Duvet by Claudy Jongstra, Self Portrait by Pierre Bonnard, Ceiling Decor by David Wiseman, Audrey Marnay in Star Wars Costuming, Furniture by Hedi Slimane, Li Gong from Memoirs of a Geisha, Painting by Marc Chagall, Kirsten Dunst from Marie Antoinette, Painting by Yuko Murata. Background, the Farnsworth House.

My Entry:

For the capsule collection as a whole, I tried to capture the ornamentation of the beaux-arts and combine it with the traditional Japanese kimono while still keeping the design modern enough to be wearable. Though I really love the colors of impressionism and post-impressionism, when I saw the image of Peggy Guggenheim wearing her luxuriously embroidered top, I thought the clothes looked so much more romantic in a sweeping greyscale.

Look One - The Coat: Fashioned in thick charcoal wool, it has half-length bell sleeves and a similarly poufed bottom. Bands around the neck and the sleeves evoke kimono collars, and decorative molded flowers are scattered across the surface.

Look Two - The Dress: This is a lighter, cotton fabric in white. Its voluminous shape has loose, batwing sleeves, and is spangled with oversize sequins and embroidered tree branches.

Look Three - The Jumpsuit: My favorite of the pieces, this jumpsuit is made of light grey linen. It has randomly strewn feathers sewn alongside large paisely motifs and a beaded fringe on the torso. Using an empire waist, a melange of sequins and feathers spread over the bust. It also has a convenient pocket at hip level.

Footwear: To contrast the frivolity of the clothing, I designed shoes that have wedges well large enough to anchor the body, as well as a tangle of straps to balance the clunky bottoms. The wooden wedge extends far past the heel and reaches mid-calf. They aren't necessarily practical, but then again, how practical is fashion to begin with?!
