ok the new game is very simple / open ...

do you guys know mood boards?

all you have to do is make a design based on imagery you've collected
and you can have a concept / narrative / etc behind it
or it can be all random pictures you like

when you post your design, posts your 'inspirations' as well
the inspirations will be under all these categories:
- silhouette/shape/structures inspiration
- colours inspiration
- textures inspiration (for fabrics, prints, embellishment, etc.)
- details inspiration (like buttons, trims, etc.)


(OPTIONAL)
- styling inspiration for your model (like hairstyling, makeup, etc) if you choose to draw a design on a model
- to finish,
you can even do a scene for your model/design

you can use as much or as little imagery for the categories as you want

ideas can be influenced by anything. history, culture (literature, movies), trends..

maybe everyone's out on vacation by now.. lol

the thing about the game i posted is,
i hear this is the way they teach fashion design in many schools
it's for concept development --the mood boards
so it helps a lot in the end hopefully it gives a sense design and coming up with ideas can be easy

Today's Sunday so ... Why don't I set the deadline to June 8 --that's three weeks from now. And we can see if there are enough posts by that time..

nice! I have a question, mood boards are like scrapbook stuff arent they?! or what are they then hahaha

oh they're just 'thematic' collages^ ...

you can make one on the computer if you have a image editing program

or you can cut pictures from books, print images from the net, photocopy books, etc. and then paste them together under the separate themes

It's a very good book on how to take inspiration (collected imagery, thoughts, writings, etc.) and turn them into designs

oooh nice so its ok if I make my sketch inspired by scrapbook?! you know buttons, ribbons, stamps etc..

sketch-inspired ... what do you mean by that?
sure, you could use what you already have
or even your own drawings indeed
any imagery

the thing with having lots of images from different places is, ... for example you want interesting buttons
and the theme you have for your fashion design is 'seashells'
so on one page, you might have pictures of buttons you like or shapes of buttons or random circles and squares and the page may also have photographs of seashells... so, then you could possibly combine all of those ideas together to create a new design, a new button ...

ooh well I think Im getting it, sorry but Im kind of SLOW HAHAHAHAHA this is an example idea i have tell me if Im wrong or right, Ill design a dress with lots of buttons and ribbons, and some stamps could that be considered to fit this theme??!

well you have one main idea (it can be a narrative like a story, a person or character in mind that you're dressing up, a mood, a feeling u get from a song or other ideas like that)
this main idea will direct your choices in everything

then there are 4 parts of the design that need inspiration for in the list^
these connect to your main idea
texture, detail, colour, shape

does that make sense?

ooh I kind of got it hahaha Ill start drawing, I can tell you that my main Idea is the SEA haha so now I need four inspirations to connect them to the main idea well Ill still wait to the first post to see how it goes! thnax for your time hahah

what did you want to post..

is the game really too hard? you don't need a lot of pictures even one for each category is fine... it can even be based on words!
it's just about putting your ideas/inspiration together
or knowing where you get them from

Oh I'm ready, I do this in school for huge collections all semester long...I'm just procrastinating. I even have the pictures all planned out and the "look". Now all I need to do is open photoshop..take out my gauche....aahha tomorrow!!!!!

Hello here is my mini collection

Colonial barn ghost
​

I was inspired by ghosts who haunted the barn in colonial villages.

The center image inpired my color pallette,the wood and bones inspired textile choices and prints.

First outfit: dress made of white wool and orange silk edging, vest with bertha collar made of printed heavy silk with a wood carving print

second outfit: sleeveless orange leather tunic, suede pants with a bound placket that tapers the pants in. Puff sleeve blouse in wool, leather applique deer heads with painted abstract antlers.

third outfit: White leather sleeveless dress with reverse scallop at edges. white longsleved cotton blouse with orange triangle trim on sleeves and pointed manderan collar.
