I've had a similar experience with VS.... I have tons of their sweaters and they fit great and are consistent; however, I can't say the same for the rest. I bought some jackets and coats before and they were definitely not as fitted as in the photographs.. I also tried ordering some shoes before but when I received them they were PAINFUL... and then with their regular tops, the sizing is horribly inconsistent... i'd strongly urge anyone considering VS merchandise to AVOID their 'fashion' items like the plague (many different companies make them so it gets really inconsistent in quality and sizing) and only go with something like just sweaters or plain tops in which you're sure of your size and their quality. likewise with shoes.. although it is always best to try them onOriginally posted by As You Like It@Nov 13 2004, 10:27 AM
Those look cute, but I'd try to find some to try on in person that looked like that. I don't trust catalogue shopping, and especially not Victoria's Secret catalogue.
I had tried to buy some like these from those guys last year, and they were SO not what they looked like in the catalogue. They were *orange* not a darkish rust-brown, and the soles were stiff like plastic. What looks cute in a catalogue might not look so great when you get it home. My sister and I have had very patchy experience with VS catalogue. She's gotten a couple of sweaters from them which were cute, two tops that were just awful (too big, though she ordered her correct size, badly made, and of a totally different type of fabric from what was advertised). I have had lousy luck with them, first, a fall jacket which was much baggier and less-fitted than it looked in the catalogue (can we say pin-and-photograph?) then those boots, and now the fools won't stop sending me their damn catalogues.
