That is exactly what I was thinking. And the bag looks a different color in the different pictures.Originally posted by mehg@May 3rd, 2004 - 1:12 am
I still find the shape of that one to be weird and I remember when I was looking at the pics the pics looked like they were taken at two different locations. or of two different bags.

Birkin on Ebay
Something doesnt seem right about this birkin. The inside doesnt look like the inside of my mother's birkins and the picture is always of the side without the little clasp.
The pictures that do show the clasp look different and are taken in a different place.
Plus the page is plastered with magazine cut outs
Any Birkin experts out there?
Not that I intend on buying it, but if it is a fake then maybe someone should stop the person who is about to pay $28,959 for it.
that clasp that you are talking about is the REFLECTION of the actual clasp.. therefore its more to the left of the metal plate.Originally posted by MsPriss@May 5th, 2004 - 11:11 am
She (or he) relisted the bag, there's a link to the new auction, opening at $28,959. No bids yet, 5 days to go.
But there's something very weird about the close-up picture of the clasp, it's about the fourth picture down (fourth picture of the bag pictures, not counting all the other junk on that page) - next to the picture of Aerin Lauder . Doesn't it look like the clasp is all the way over on the left side of the metal plate? Isn't it supposed to be centered? It looks centered in all the other pictures.
I agree with everyone who finds something very strange about this whole page layout and the pictures obviously being taken in different locations, it makes it seem as if it might not be the same bag in all the pics. For me it would raise the question if this was the actual bag I would get or if it's a stock image. Not that it would ever be relevant, but if I were actually in the market for something like this, and I'd get to this page - I'd hit the back button even before it fully loaded.
no probs... i would neevr buy such a thing off a website anyway eitherOriginally posted by MsPriss@May 5th, 2004 - 11:23 am
Thanks Leyla, and I'm going to go to quit nitpicking before I really convince myself that this person - who has a 100% positive feedback record - is blatantly selling fakes. I guess she's (or he's) gotta be doing something right, or someone would have figured it out by now, so I'll stop picking on her and get some sleep.
I don't know, I guess it's the thought of $28,000+ on a handbag... I'm still wrapping my mind around the idea of 5 or 6 thousand, but almost 30,000... Wow.
G'night!
I love Birkin in that green croc!Originally posted by trean@May 5th, 2004 - 5:39 am

THere doesnt even seem to be a liningOriginally posted by birkinbabe@May 5th, 2004 - 8:34 am
It looks real to me. The only point where there could be any doubt would be the lining. But I've never seen the inside of a croc Birkin so I can't say.
I absolutely LOVE the black and green crocs too!
And Babe Paley was SO amazing!
