For resort, Amy Smilovic started thinking about DNA — not only that of her brand Tibi, but actual deoxyribonucleic acid, our hereditary material comprised of atoms and molecules in a double helix structure — a theme from which she drew color and print inspiration with a subtle hand. “The overarching theme is still sportswear and relaxation,” she said of her lineup, which featured long, lean skirts and crop tops — some looks subtly referencing Mod silhouettes — as well as sporty track pants with matching anoraks and cozy knits in creamy whites and saturated reds, blues and greens.
Leather looks were the collection’s standouts, notably the culottes, updated for the season with silver grommet hardware, and a black skirt featuring deconstructed petal appliqués.
