AnOther Magazine A/W15: Real/Unreal
— September 10, 2015 —

The brand new issue of AnOther Magazine is a celebration of borderless dreaming, where reality meets unreality

"Blurring the lines between fact and fiction is a game that both fashion and cinema play so well together. Fashion is the great fantasist and without fiction, cinema would be merely a documentary art. A fashion magazine should do the same – allow you to project your imagination into new territories, introduce you to the most unbelievable new ideas, invent new realities, and provide a new frame of reference from which to view the world." – Jefferson Hack

AnOther Magazine A/W15 blurs the lines between fact and fiction. Actors, characters, language and images are unbound and unleashed, inventing new realities and presenting inspirational ideas. Luca Guadagnino’s sun-drenched thriller A Bigger Splash provides a framework for this issue of AnOther. This winter, the auteur’s film will transport us to a pastel Italian idyll, starring Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton – the issue's cover stars.

Hollywood royalty and Fifty Shades star Dakota Johnson explores her darker side in A Bigger Splash. Photographer Collier Schorr and AnOther Magazine Fashion Director Katie Shillingford present a new vision of an actress who loves to take risks in a beguiling story that culminates in three unique covers.

In a work of fiction co-authored by Tilda Swinton, Glenn O’Brien, Luca Guadagnino and Dave Kajganich, musician Marianne Lane, the lead character in A Bigger Splash, talks career crisis, recovery from substance abuse and the mysterious death of her producer Harry Hawks. Photographer Glen Luchford captures Lane in a striking story styled by Katie Shillingford, and a limited-edition cover.

John Galliano's spectacular ready to wear Autumn/Winter 2015 collection for Maison Margiela is brought to life in an epic shoot by Craig McDean, styled by Katie Shillingford with bewitching make-up by Pat McGrath. In an exclusive interview with Susannah Frankel, the designer opens up about his long-awaited comeback.

For our unique MOVEment project, AnOther commissioned seven films from the world’s leading choreographers, designers, and filmmakers. The result is a dizzying celebration of kinetic couture.

Visionary director Wim Wenders guest-edits AnOther’s 32-page literary section, Document, sharing the novels and poems which have inspired his work, illustrated by Wenders’ own sublime photography.

Nicolas Ghesquière and Juergen Teller are brought together in conversation with Jefferson Hack, accompanied by exclusive images from Louis Vuitton's Autumn/Winter 2015 collection.

Plus: Jennifer Jason Leigh, Eddie Peake, LUMA Arles, John Waters, Wolfgang Tillmans, Azzedine Alaïa and more.

AnOther Magazine A/W15 is out September 10. Get your copy here.

She really is the coolest. Love the white dress @ the Venice premiere.

why do famous people never hold their own umbrellas?

she looks awesome.

i seriously think we should be calling her the new/next meryl streep.
she can act almost anything!
male/female
voluptuous/androgynous
brainy/hilarious
uptight/loose
seriously - she should get way more accolades.
but perhaps it's because she follows her heart; she works on quirky-indie films and with directors from all over the place, so she's not a hollywood a-lister like meryl is/was.
but she's an INCREDIBLE actress!

EVERYTHING you just said is spot on!

She looks stunning in that dress!! I actually like that she doesn't do the big budget productions, I think a lot of her charm will be diluted with the need to appeal to a broad range of audience.

oh agree - i love that she follows her heart too

but i was just wondering aloud if that's not at least part of the reason she doesn't get the recognition - at least in terms of awards - that i believe she deserves. she should've been nominated for more academy awards for sure, imo.
