i like her playful and seemingly naive approach to illustration and the way she couples it with photography. sorry i haven't been posting more images, i'm out of attachment space, it seems.
I loved it , just checked her website. I see what you mean about the way both of her disciplines are complementing each other but they still seem to have an identity of their own, which is very.. pure? in both her illustrations and photographs. I also loved the tactile feeling that one gets when looking at her drawings of materials, especially those who are very simple in appearance.. you can still see that she really appreciates couture..

and, does she make those hats or is she just photographing or collecting them?.. the one on top on the left corner is just.. gahh.
I love hats people.
thanks for the thread, estellaa. way to make a comeback!.
i also really like the 'scenes' that she creates...
the backgrounds, walls/wallpaper... love that pleated thing in post#1 and the knitted drawing... i'm feeling empty with the pencil drawings though
love these! the coloring book esque line drawings are good, but the photos and hats are awesome! they have such elegance and drama to them. vermeer goes to berlin and becomes a photographer.
i think it's great that faces don't really factor into the illustrations
so often our attention is arrested by faces, but because that part is missing we focus on what she wants us to see..
