Tom Ford Beauty has extended its upscale Private Blend Collection with two new fragrances that continue the Mediterranean theme of the brand’s Neroli Portofino line. Mandarino Di Amalfi and Costa Azzurra will be available in selected Tom Ford Beauty travel retail locations from August.

Mandarino Di Amalfi aims to capture the calm idyll of the whitewashed villas dotting the cliff sides of Amalfi, according to the brand. The fragrance opens with an abundance of coastal Italian ingredients. Top notes include tarragon, spearmint, blackcurrant, bergamot, grapefruit, lemon sfumatrice (an artisanal pressed lemon oil) and basil.

Cool black pepper and coriander seed complement a floral core comprising orange flower, clary sage, jasmine and Shiso leaf. The base blends vetiver, amber, labdanum, musk and civet.

Costa Azzurra evokes the sun-baked landscape of coastal and island Mediterranean woods, where pines and oaks mingle with wild-growing herbs and salty water.

The fragrance opens with a hint of fucus – a species of seaweed – which is combined with driftwood and agarwood accords, enriched with ambrette seed, celery seed and caradamom.

The heart features armoise, juniper berry, myrtle, basil, French lavender, lemon and yellow mandarin. The dry-down incorporates citrus and resin from the lentisque shrub, olibanum, incense, vetiver and vanilla.

The Neroli Portofino trio is presented in glass flacons coloured in complementary shades of sea and sky blue. All three bottles are labelled with a gold plaque and are packed in matching Private Blend outer cartons.

50 miniature-sized, limited edition lipsticks will be released November 28th at 12:01am on tomford.com, and they will be available for four days (or while stock lasts). They will launch online only on December 1st for one day only at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale’s.

They will return on December 26th online and in department stores and will be on-counter for eight weeks (or until stock lasts). Each lipstick retails for $32.00.

Tom Ford Beauty takes Noir masculine fragrance to new Extreme

Tom Ford Beauty has updated its Tom Ford Noir masculine fragrance, introduced in 2012, with a new Extreme version (pictured). It is rolling out this month into the brand’s travel retail doors in Europe and the Middle East. It will enter the Americas market in June, followed by Asia Pacific in August.

The Tom Ford Noir Extreme juice opens on notes of mandarin oil, neroli oil North Africa ORPUR, saffron, cardamom and nutmeg. The heart features Indian Kulfi, lentisque resinoid and floral notes of rose absolute, jasmine and orange flower. The base blends woods, amber and vanilla.

The rectangular fragrance bottle, made of smoky black glass, is an updated version of the original Tom Ford Noir flacon. This time the silver has been replaced with gold, for the cap, the name and the outer carton.

Tom Ford Noir Extreme is available as a 50ml edp, and is priced domestically at around £70 (US$100).

Launch: Fleur de Portofino – the fourth fragrance in the Neroli Portofino collection – is now available in Tom Ford Beauty travel retail doors worldwide.

Details: The latest addition to Tom Ford’s upscale Private Blend Collection was inspired by the region’s white acacia flowers.

The juice opens on top notes of lemon, mandarin, bergamot and tangerine, complemented by bigarade (inedible bitter orange) leaf absolute, violet leaf absolute Orpur and syringa. The floral heart features acacia, magnolia, jasmine, orange flower and Moroccan rose absolute. The base blends an acacia honey accord, cistus, vanilla and ambrette.

Fleur de Portofino is presented in a light-blue version of the signature turquoise Neroli Portofino flacon, with matching outer carton. The recommended domestic price-point is around £145 (US$224) for 50ml edp.

When Tom Ford launched his limited-edition line of 50 pinkie-size lipsticks on Black Friday, the gold hue (Rory) was the shade I gravitated toward first. I’m not exactly the type to wear a full-on metallic mouth, but I figured I’d dab a little in the center to act as a festive highlight during the holiday season. Fast-forward to July and the designer’s Fall 2015 campaign featuring model Ondria Hardin, and I’m ready to layer it on thick. Flashier than nude, but just as neutral—gold is guaranteed to play well with fur, denim, and shoulder-grazing earrings come September but also accentuates a subtle summer glow right now. The only issue: Will my tiny tube make it until then?
