Some of his recent designs/products, I do not know if these have been posted already. Most are so beautiful, the rest aren't too shabby either. The first one is the Bond shades created for Daniel Craig (Quantum of Solace)

This last one I just love. I think it is an outtake from Carolyn's Estee ad campaign photoshoot for Youth Dew Amber Nude. The hair/make-up looks exactly the same, plus the sheet and the couch.

The boots. Oh my God!
I had the idea for a pair of boots just like those about 6-9 months ago.
Nice. Now I can just save up and buy them without worrying how to get them done. ^_^

Designer Tom Ford has come out with a limited edition collection of fur boots for men, with the top-priced pair commanding $9,240. The collection consists of three pairs of boots and a compatible fur trapper hat. There are silver and tan natural fur boots for $5,250; chocolate brown kid fur boots for $4,470 both with rawhide leather laces; and a somewhat dressier pair of natural brown otter fur boots which cost the $9,240. The hat is made of white badger fur and costs $4,510. Ford has become known for pushing the boundaries of luxury for men, and this collection is certainly no exception.

... would be the price range. Actually, not taht crazy if you think tehy are pretty stunning and exclusive.

Paris fashion week has some of the most cutting edge of high fashion. how can they be stuck on tradition? Paris is way more interesting than say New York fashion week which is always a total yawn.
france's 35 hour work week is a good thing. the fact that they don't stupidly and blindly worship celebrity is also another good thing. celebrities get away with such awful behaviour and even murder and people still love them. it's a sick culture.
viva la france!

^^ummm... i guess... yeah! vive la france!
but... i still dont get what you meant with that paris vs. new york kind of thing, and then the celebrities (what's up with celebrities and tom ford? celebrities murder?), and then the 35hour/week work in france... i know he has complained about it in the past (a loooong time ago) but why bring it up now? why here?
would you care to elaborate? i'm puzzled! :ninja:

Tom Ford just updated his website!!! With a totally improved design and almost interactive features with a lot of pics, a great press section, and much larger and in detail new images. It looks amazingly elegant, and somehow sexy. You guys should check it out, if you like him as much as I do.

aren't those boots just cutie ?
:ninja:

i wonder how much they are, though ...

isn't it time to change the title of this thread or make it evoluate ...
or just open a thread in the Fashion History part ... something like Gucci under Tom Ford's reign ....

Tom's back for some times now ...
and has done his own label ...
....
:innocent:

Tom Ford is undoubtedly one of the most power fashion brands going today. His life post Gucci has excelled in all areas and the things he has created are of quality rarely seen in mens fashion. I love his silk PJ's and perfume which i own and cherish.
I plan on adding to my collection.
Toms work is good, but you have to pay a hefty price for it.

i just watched Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace back to back and damn, Tom's suits really look WORLDS better than the Brionis (nothing against Brioni, but the suits in QoS are just soooo sexy).

@pasha: which one's Tom's wearing? Warren? Andre?

In the pic with Carolyn, he is wearing 'Ford': I believe one of the most popular styles after Whitney. I believe in tortoise frame - like the pair I own. Let me post the pic:

^These in the darker frame. That style came in 3 colors. It was pretty recognizable, because of the large gold T shape that wraps the frame. But nowadays, he wears Warren a lot.

We've created an archive thread for Tom's work while he was at Gucci and YSL so that this thread can stay focused on his current and future work. Here's the new thread.

Enjoy. :flower:

i'm dying for one of his bathing suit for men, but it's harsh to put 450€ to go to the beach.

^ I know.

I would like to buy almost everything he sells, yet he himself said clearly 2 years ago he is no longer 'interested' in customers who question prices. I am sure he is singing another tune now, with the economy and everything.

I really wonder how he is doing now: he has an insanely successful sunglasses biz on the side to support every new venture of course, but when LV and Gucci are struggling in this recession with no-end, I am curious how his ephemeral, ultra-exclusive and insanely-expensive budding line is thriving... this may have been a bad time for him to start and push for this type of label, but I am sure he is thinking of something.

Before recession, he had said that he did not expect the company to turn any profits for at least a couple of years, even when the buzz and demand were so high. Now... people just don't want to spend. I guess we'll see, since he has been extremely quiet since the recession began. Before that, he was all over the press for a solid 3 years.

^^ i can tell you for sure because i havent seen revenues numbers but i bet he's not struggling!!
in times of recession you really have to go to the extremes... go real cheap (think zara) or ultra-high because ultimately someone will take a good stake out of the recession (think of a new Soros) and he'll want the best for himself, and that's what TF is for B)

the only problem i see in his business model is that he didnt have time yet to expand in enough countries... and no matter how wealthy, travel expenses are some of the first to drastically drop in everyone's accounts ( i guess the reason being that unlike 5k cashmere coats, travelling is too showy for the current climate)
you may still be getting loads of cash in, but i'm not sure you one your neighbours to know

I don't think Tom's business will really suffer too much because most of his products were and are geared towards people who don't really have to worry too much about this recession we're in. They might be spending more discreetly, but they're still spending.

Do not be that sure of that. His 'ideal' customer still buys his stuff from Saville Row. It is his sunglasses that run his business, not his velvet slippers or 15,000 dollar alligator riding boots.
