That´s Jon K in the ad, sorry Pasha...
These are really beautiful smelling too, the Black Violet is to die for...I want every single one of the Private Blend's. Seriously I get goosebumps that's how obsessed I am. OMG they're so amazing. Everyone must smell them. I remember the SA telling me which ones Tom wears himself. Drool drool drool....love them.
have you read isherwood's "a single man"? i'm not sure it's the vehicle to launch his brand into the fashion stratosphere like gigolo did armani....
^ I don't think he needs such a vehicle to begin with. his brand is already launched, and no moviegoer/potential customer is going to pay 6000 dollars to a blazer just because some actor is wearing it in a movie. If they care about his clothes, they are already buying them, as long as they can afford the dream.
Bond was more than enough for him.
oh my god, pls get over it.
It was just a suggestion about changing his models. I regret ever bringing it up: I did not know it would cause this much discomfort and fury for you, and nuisance for me.
Uhh. Please let it go already. How about this: I am Pasha, and I love Jon, I want Jon in me on me under me, I want him, I want to be him, I want him to do every ad from TF to a paper clip commercial for Staples.....
Hmmm, I think it is perfect, thank you very much darling. Jon in, on, under you will be a bit of problem though, but you can always dream.
there are plenty of simple-minded athletes and entertainment types who find themselves as beholden to the sway of popular film as the general public. signing a multi-million dollar contract does not give one more elite tastes....
One could, but perhaps shouldn't, say the same thing about Tom Ford himself.
oh, one has.
oh mikeijames, you are too cool for school as always....
thanks! and thanks for posting these articles. it's very telling that he did $3M in business at one counter in fragrance in one year. i know major cosmetic brands that don't do that at a counter in new york city. i don't care how many $5k+ suits he sells, those fragrances and shades will keep that company afloat.
and there are many residents of savile row that would kill to have a $125k in one sale.
^ Sure, no biggie.
Some choice quotes from him: as if he wanted to answer all our questions!! (maybe the interviewer read our comments on tfs to ask him the very specific ones that we raise here, lol)
MR. FORD; you are FANTASTIC!!!!
always love his clothes. has anyone been to his store?
^ The Madison Ave. one is where I plan to have my ashes scattered when I die. It's absolutely gorgeous, and the SAs were very nice.
Thanks for posting those pasha. It's weird, while he was going through his whole "publicizing himself" phase with the VF cover, the editorials, the interviews, the shocking ad campaigns, he was sort of going from being Tom Ford to being "Tom Ford". It's nice getting to see him as human again, hear something a little deeper than the sex and glam side of him.
^ you're welcome, and I agree with you about his self-publicizing.
I remember reading some piece about him in which he was talking about power in fashion. It was interesting, because he had said something along the lines of 'it is important to stay in people's minds and in the papers' or something. Basically saying that no matter who you are, it is important to do something worthwhile and remain relevant no matter what.
Maybe most of his previous PR interviews and outings were about just that: staying relevant by creating some impact while there wasn't that much about his company solidified, but only ideas and works in progress. But now, his brand is established. Maybe he doesn't need all the gimmicks.
Oh, but I must say, all of them were so much fun!!!! And hopefully there is much more to come.
Oh, I did forget to lament this statement in my post...
Reading that is like taking a bullet. I truly, truly hope he changes his tune.
from today's page six
with clients like these, tom ford will clearly weather this financial storm....
