Tom Ford S/S 2026 Paris

^ that silk skirt is one of the things I really like from the trunk show. As you said, reminiscent of Fords YSL collections.

Everything else is a bit disjointed. The colours of the jersey against the colours of the leather is unpleasant to sift through. They’re speaking to very different clientele and also represent very different collections. The perforated leather is gorgeous, but the lack of lining (not even a sheer stretch tricot or lingerie style lining, or even a stretch/bias satin lining) seems a touch foolish. Its treatment works in relation to the use of lace. Creates an interesting parallel with the ideas of hardness and softness in tactility. How it correlates to the jersey crepe I have no clue. I usually love a good sheath and column but here it’s all so fractured. Loathe that sheer skirt column/choker thing. Ann D did it better, here it’s LDSS for Ann D at best.

Too much of anything is bad. He has always been a very serious designer, but now that he designs for Ford some humor wouldn't hurt. His work tends to feel contrived. Even when he tries to add a bit of bad taste the result is often try hard. He is amazing at tailoring, but very limited when it comes to dresses and skirts.
I do miss that virgo humor of tom . But i like the directions that they're going in. But for the life of me, I do not understand the cost. It's so expensive.

Now TF needs a little bit more serious and rigor. I don’t necessarily want humor from Haider in the future but more lightness.

It’s only his first year so he won’t let loose at first but it will actually come.
Re: pricing. I am intrigued. For instance, a pair of wool-silk pants are $1,800, less than Dior charges. Then you see pants in silk or in another case, viscose priced at $3k range.
You also see a silk blazer in the $5k range then another wool/silk blazer at $7,000. I wonder what the (structural?) differences contribute to such price discrepancies?
Remember that MO’s pricing is not the final pricing.
And sometimes, prices on pieces differs when items are part of a suit compared to when they are pieces of their own.

I don´t know why...but to me she looks like Halle Berry´s little evil sister.

For real - She obviously has the body/mid riff to pull off this look, probably the most daring one from the show.

It's a bit too naked for my personal taste but I guess, this being Tom Ford, it fitted in just fine.

I wonder if this look from Ann Demeulemeester's SS'06 collection was on the mood board as it's more or less the same concept.

on moodboard definitely :-)

^^^ You’re too kind. He just straightup ripped off the Ann D design and look. Haider has this annoying habit of ripping off another designer wholesale; he did the exact same with that Gaultier HC stint for a look. Shameful really because he's better than this.

(... @susseinmcswanny How did we go from Tyrone to a gibbon LMFAO ... Your choices are genuinely fascinating. Can't wait to see what's next...)

The gibbon looks better!

WOW. Such a blatant ripoff!
I prefer the Ann D cause it's not sheer. I'm sorry but that Tom Ford looks straight up from NYFW Laquan Smith runway or Monot.

I'm afraid we've been numbed to death over the past years by celebrities like the Kardashians, Julia Foxes and Saint Sernins of today to believe wearing little more than underwear has become an accepted social norm, to the point that I (almost) feel indifferent about seeing looks like that. 🙄

In the context of the film Pillion that Alexander Skarsgard is promoting, it works though. It’s literally a gay biker film about a master and sub relationship.
actually it does not in context of the film because gay leather bikers are not dressing like Fort Lauderdale and Palm Springs circuit gay it's not the same club.

just because its gay doesn't mean its the same subculture club :)

that's the problem with today's fashion and viral hungry publications and fashion people the mix everything up into one flat instant bite size image that is not nauced nor well executed...as long as it simulates something for shock and hype value.

and not actually teaching the public of the differences or layer to culture or knowledge

I just mean in the context of this entire promo tour and how Skarsgard has been dressing. And no, he’s has not been dressing exclusively in biker and leather looks. He has leaned into a sexual, tacky, campy style on the red carpet and in editorials. This magazine shoot and look has just been one of many that he and his stylist has leaned into. It’s ok to not be sold on the marketing tactic, but it’s just part of today’s movie promo cycle, dressing the star in a way that ties back to the film and to get people talking.

i know what you mean but its not one size fits all, the movie is about gay leather biker subculture, not about the gay Fort Lauderdale circuit white parties ....it not the same scene.

its like if the film was about rappers but on a cover he wears something that looks like james brown ...one would say its in context of black music artist so its fits with the movie promo ...lol that's how stretched out of a statement the response is that its in the context of the movie for this cover.

i am speaking of this cover and based of your reacting to it ... i would apply same comment to all the other looks he did that are not a direct link to the movie leather biker subculture.

its just part of the promotion of the film, i know i spoke already about actors dressing in the spirit of the movie character in another thread , i believe everyone gets that.

but when your saying its in context of the movie your factually wrong because just because its gay does not mean its the same subculture thats the big difference ...... not if i am sold on the idea to dress in the style of the movie for red carpet etc which i have no problem with.

that's the problem of today people don't stick to facts but create alternative simulation of proximity to justify a belief or feeling or opinion

know your gay´s subculture speed course these gay usually don't mix or like same things :
