^^i think he's on a very good path (re showing his versatility). he just did those Shakespeare movies, next he will shoot that vampire/love movie with Tilda Swinton and then he will play an ex-con in "Black wings has my angel".
i don't think he will be typecast (or at least i hope so)

Hiddles has said in interviews, he's signed up to 6 Avengers movies so if he's not in Thor 2, likely Loki will reappear in one of the other tie-ins coming out before TA2.

I'm probably going to get killed for saying this, but I wish he would more low-key for awhile. I love him, I've been a fan of his for years (Miss Austen Regrets started my love affair with him), but I'm getting tired of seeing him out and about at events every. single. day.

^nono, he will be in Thor 2, just not be the main villain/main focus

and i think we won't get to see him for a while once he starts filming his new movie in Germany, there shouldn't be too many events for him to attend there

^ I think it is a good thing he is less of a focus, even though we won't get the pleasure of gazing upon him! I really want him to develop his career, and being just known as that villain from that blockbuster it not great for one's career in the long term. He is obviously very versatile and talented, and hopefully he'll move into challenging and wildly different work in the coming years. I think he is about 2-3 years behind where Michael Fassebender is right now in his career.

I'm not sure that's a fair comparison. Fassbender is four years older than Tom and has been acting roughly about eight to ten years longer. Fassbender was beginning to break out into the mainstream (with 300, Band of Brothers) when Tom was just getting on the stage. Honestly, I think it's pretty commendable of Tom because he kind of shot up fast. His first mainstream project was REALLY mainstream and he played a huge part in it.

All that said, I'm not worried about him not being versatile. He works as Loki because he has the talent for it, but if you look at him and the parts he played early on he could easily fit into leading man/good guy roles.

hmm I've only seen him promote the Avengers recently which is already over.. I see him do a few events once in a while but that's it. And when he is at events, he's seems to be there for a good reason.
Did someone say he might not be versatile or typcasted? Yeah he's best known as Loki but the guy comes from theater, does Shakespeare, the Henry series.. He's done romantic leading man roles, plays the villian.. All very different. I very much doubt he'll be typcasted. In fact, even though there might be more sequals, Loki will probalby be the only (comic) villian he ever plays.
What you said applies more to Chris Hemsworth now that I think about it I do think he's a good actor though.
