In his third season since partnering with Kering, Tomas Maier continues to crystallize his version of ease. It is at once relaxed and refined, a duality he coolly worked into a strong lineup of pre-fall clothes that can seamlessly transition from day to dressy. “I think about the casual side, what someone would need if [they] don’t like to be formal at all,” the designer said.
He made the point with men’s and women’s items that have ample commercial appeal: a sporty laced moleskin tunic and skirt, and, on him, a cord Montgomery jacket shown with moleskin pants.
Throughout, Maier riffed on texture. There were rich cotton velvets, oiled denim, soft fleece and glossy leather, all rendered in the laid-back yet sophisticated vein that is his signature.
