funny thing that I found this thread today of all days... I was walking around and saw this shop selling the original version of this type of shoes, they gave me flashbacks of my childhood cause they were very popular back then and I thought that it will be nice if TOMS would sell in Argentina (seems ironic that they don´t sell here) because their product is "higher-end" compared to the originals...
btw how do you called this type of shoe? has TOMS became the official name? we called them "alpargatas"

i have also heard them being called Espadrilles. I like that TOM released some laced men pairs. I may get a pair now, or not.

It's like "the" hipster shoe here in L.A....it was weird that in NYC very few people wore them. I guess its because of all the walking, the soles will get trashed sooner.

I like wearing these type of shoes when I'm exercising, its good to have slip on shoes like these. They come in plain colours and they have glittery ones as well.For every pair you purchase, a pair is given to a child in need.

Anyone got any pictures of people wearing these? I'm looking for some ideas of what to style them with....I've had a black pair for ages now but I've only worn them a couple of times because I can never find anything to wear them with!

^ you're having a hard time wearing your toms? I would say they're not really for styling. I see them more as sneaker shoes that you wear when you need something comfortable on days when you just feel like being casual. I'm always wearing mine with a top, jeans, and a cardigan.

anyways, I wore my toms in the rain (unexpected) this weekend and now the front is all white. anyone else's toms doing this? I'm going to guess it's somehow related to the glue they used..

Hmmm my mom goes to Argentina every year and brings me about 5 pairs of those....for the prize of one pair of TOMS... :/
