^ I've heard good things about St. Vincent, FKA Twiggs and Perfume Genius, I'll have to check them out. Since I love her first album I really wanted to like Lana del Rey's new LP but it just didn't grab my attention.

Movement - self-titled EP. By far my favorite release of the year.. so pretty and soothing and they're magic live.
The Black Keys - Turn Blue. I've always loved them and never really resented their more melodic direction.. Fever is of course a joke but the rest of the album feels very sincere and it's beautifully written. I hate divorces.
Mystic Braves - Desert Island. I'd put this on top of my list just for how easy it is and how it automatically puts me in a good mood.
James Vincent McMorrow - Post Tropical.
Dirty Beaches - Stateless. RIP Dirty Beaches.
Lana del Rey - West Coast. Black Keys touches and she sings like an angel.
Timber Timbre - Hot Dreams

I'm forgetting something..... uh.

I'm not the most up-to-date person when it comes to music, but there were some gems that made my 2014 a lot better:

Leonard Cohen - Popular Problems (The man is a genius. We should thank God every day for his work and the fact that he's 80 and still writing, singing and touring. Samson in New Orleans, what a song. Born in Chains. And of cooourse I cry listening to Did I Ever Love You.)

Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence (I was very excited to hear Dan Auerbach was going to produce this album, and I was not disappointed at all when I listened to it. West Coast is perfect. Old Money, Shades of Cool, Ultraviolence. Great songs. I'd also add the most recent one for Tim Burton's movie: I Can Fly - my new addiction.)

Black Keys - Turn Blue (Easy to say they're one of the best bands we currently have out there. I love their mix of blues and rock and roll and how they do it without sounding like Rolling Stones wannabes. Dan has so much energy singing, I find their music very sexy actually.)

Honorable mention: Temples - Sun Structures

Guilty pleasure: Iggy Azalea - The New Classic

Arca- Xen
18+- Trust
FKA Twigs- LP1
Andy Stott- Faith in Strangers
Les Sins- Michael
Little Dragon- Nabuma Rubberband

i'll be honest i didn't really get into a whole lot this year myself....i've been listening to st vincent virtually on repeat for much of the year....it's sooo good. like you heels,i tried giving lana's latest a go.....the title track was good but the rest failed to really take me like her previous.

SZA- Z EP
Les Sins- Michael
Azealia Banks- Broke With Expensive Taste
Kindess- Otherness
Lykke Li- I Never Learn

Sure I forgot a few but that was pretty much it
