there was a post about ralph's spring collection somewhere else and they said it was boring. anyway, i like his stuff, even if its not innovative or new. there's nothing like a revived classic redone in a modern way. go ralph!

Vivienne Westwood is severely underrated :( But I think it's hard to say if she was direct influences on these corrections *shrugs* The tartan does seem a bit obvious though.

vivienne westwood has influenced everyone ...whether they realize it or not by virtue of the trickle down factor, if nothing else...i don't know if she's really under-rated...most people recognize her contribution to the industry and fashion as a whole...i do think that her stuff has been unwearable...for the most part anyway, for several seasons...so she may have been over-looked for awhile...

glas to see she's back in the saddle... that was a cute piece igni-thx for posting :flower:

Thanks for posting Igni! I actually just finished looking at that article on FWD! I think the Tartan is really the only influence from Vivienne. I think Vivienne is somewhat under-rated in general but the more fashion-concious people realize the contributions that she has made over the years. I recently read a biography on her and I was stunned to find out then numerous things she did!

i've always loved vivienne, but i wonder why they never show her in vogue...her designs are unique and original and she's stuck with something and kept it going for years...the shape, the cut...you can always tell which garmet is hers sorta thing.

It's been said about VW that she's very creative, has great ideas and influences a lot of people; I think that's really true.

Others transform those influences into prettier, more wearable, more commercial clothes than those VW makes...

I don't think she is underrated either. I think she deserves to be celebrated, and is. (V&A exhibit which I am hopefully going to)
Vivienne Westwood is a designer that has very very greatly influenced the fashion world, and anything else I say would probably have been said many times so I stop here.
I still want those pirate boots :pirate:

(space, I hope you don't mind but I made your post make a lil more sense ;))
