Any parent who is too embarassed to tell their kids the name of the organ they used to get milk from shouldn't be a parent.

 I agree completely. It's a BODY, we all have one - I don't think it's such a big deal.

I don't care if it's 1962 or 2004, North Americans are so uptight when it comes to t*ts.

When In europe I always go topless at the beach as most people do. When I first went to  the beach in North America the first thing I did when I got to the beach was take off my top.

Women gasped, kids giggled and men stared as if they had never seen breasts before

I caused such a comotion that a woman "told on me" to a life gaurd and he advised me that I wasn't allowed to go topless. I responded with "Is this not a beach?"

North Americans are prudes. They act like they'll have a heart attack if they see nipple.
It's a different culture...we're not "prudes," we're just different. I don't call people who go topless a bunch of "scandalous tramps." I accept that it's a part of culture and I do not pass judgement.

Maybe you should broaden your perspectives and acknowledge other cultures before stepping on some toes. [/b][/quote]
Well the reason you guys don't allow bare breasts is because the US tried to pass themselves off as a "conservative" country.

However the US has more unwed mothers, more divorce and more convicted pedofiles and p*rn production per capita than any other country in the world.

I just find it odd. Thats all. :innocent:

See if the US were conservative with more things then I would be able to understand. I just think that they've grown to be ashamed of nudity.

Actually that is very true CelineChic..Americans are ashamed of nudity and thats why its just scandalous here to go topless on a public beach. I ask all my friends and most of em are not into nudity at all...most blush at the mention of it yet don't even bat an eye at the most dirtiest jokes and comments.

And those parents who make words like nipple into a dirty word I totally disagree with and don't get...maybe thats why all my friends don't know crap when it comes to sex is because they dont even know things like nipple until the end of elementary. and to think my friends are shocked at what I know....knowledge is power and no reason to not know about human naure extensively...no wonder freaking every teen is getting pregnant...I swear if you hear some of the myths my peers think are true you'd want to pull your hair out or shake some sense into them.

Oh I've heard quite a few. I went to boarding school in Europe and there were a few american girls. As usual the topic of sex came up very often.

One of them said "Did you know that if you have sex standing up you cannot get pregnant"

And to think she was 17 at the time

and to think george bush wants to make it so the only sex education taught in schools is ABSTINENCE!

that means, kids cant ask questions, kids get pregnant, kids have kids!

free the breasts!

well from what I understood, the reasoning behind making it legal going topless for woman was, if men can do it, why can't women....
Can anyone confirm this? I am not 100% positive
sugo is 100% correct....it varies from place to place in the US...but in NY it is legal for a woman to be topless...it is an equal rights issue and was only passed in 1991- or 92...but it is perfectly legal for a woman to walk down the streets of manhattan topless...

not that anyone does...but in theory they could...just like any man could... :P

people sometimes do it during parades...

Must be new. We dont have victoria secret here but when I lived in the states I did not once see a model in a thong.

I would see the front of the thong and then the back would be shown alone sans model in little pictures.
