So, this is my first colaboration in this side of TFS... be easy
Now, to the point, im sure everyone here remeber this great lady's work in Everything But The Girl, that magnificent voice, deep-deep voice. Well, now its the time of her second solo album, after 1982's "A distant shore", we got Out of the woods.
Nice cover right?
This is the moment we EBTG mad fans have been expected for years, almost 10 since nothing new with her except a couple colaborations. The result? An eleven track album that a lot of critics have mention as almost brilliant...
But not really, and i write it with some pain in the fingers and heart. Don´t get me wrong, for sure this is by far a better album than most of the famous singers-bands-things, but there is still a missing place in it. Lyrics are fine, they've always been, but i expected a very sophisticated Tracey, the kind of sultry the last EBTG album had, Temperamental... not in a way of repeating it, but of having that great stuff in the past, and presenting this very well known sound now, nothing new to it, nothing very exciting...
I dont know, maybe my problem is i expected a lot from her, but who can blame me? After the things she has done, this is just a pretty dull point.
Now, there are three tracks in there that are worth the rest of it, to me, those are: Falling off a log, A-Z and Easy... plus the single Its all true, wich is just cool. Id really like to know what do you think about this... not only about me writing this but about this 'Out of the woods' thing...
*** still consider her voice one of the best ive ever heard, that hasnt chanched. Love Tracey still.
