I'm so happy Italy won and especially happy for Balotelli. He proved himself in the most important game in his career; he scored the most beautiful goal in this tournament and hopefully he will do as good (if not better B)) during the final.

The final should be interesting as both teams prefer offensive style and Italy is too strong to let Spain play their game of many passes.

1)By name or historically, but as today Portugal was their only real hurdle, that's why explained each case.

2)And Germany has quality but to me I don't see them improving much more, they don't have a Xavi or a Pirlo, the closest they get is Ozil but that's not enough, I've been saying it all along Boateng is the weak point of that defense and Cassano was going to burn him and he did in the first goal.
And I don't think this group or generation of players is as mentally strong as the Germany of the 70's or 90's, when they could make this epic combacks.

Now my best impersonation of an Arsenal fan: "That pitch sucks!!!" Italy wasted sevaral oportunities because of the slippery grass.

may i add, the last minutes were full of adrenaline, i did feel they were capable of a 2-2, I screamed like a crazy lady

LOL! Me two, the last minute after the penalty, I was about to go nuts!!! I was like PLEASE NO!!!!

Balotelli really really put his nerves under control and was the STAR of the match! For his second goal, I thought he would wait too long like he usually does, but he kept his cool and SCORED!!!! I knew then it would probably be over for Germany! Really really happy Italy won!

All players had a tremendous role in Italy's squad and they were ALL equally perfect in their role and their positions, all helping out with defence when necessary! Props to Italy, they fully deserved that victory!

And godamn BUFFON!!!! He must have had a heart attack several times! If it weren't for him sometimes I think the score could have gone up for Germany really really fast!

Overall, super super exciting game, and too bad Germany had a penalty, would have hoped it would be 2-0 but overall super happy Italy is recognized again as an excellent team!

And for a good laugh before I am off to re-watch the game!

Yes, for this love this final when is more difficult to win because right now Italy is a great team arrive after all so strong and make play will be more intense don't is like a first meeting, really is that i want see (hope).

I agree. With Italy's participation... I hope Spain will gives us a more exciting match even though spain is unlikely to win, i do hope that they will at least do their best!!

Croatia was in the group with the two finalists, and played to a 1:1 draw against Italy. I guess we just weren't that bad.

yeah...if italy wins the euro, at least we can say we played draw against them..B)

goodness, so many comments, can't read through all of them. barely watched the game as i had a terrible migraine, but since i heard my Italian neighbours cheer and except from some "Noooo!!!"s nothing from the other neighbours i knew what was going on
(hate to say i told you so...Germany simply doesn't win against Italy)

Thank you for all the links, but unfortunately they don't suffice as sources...Because all I get is a page with all posts Balotelli's name was tagged in. It's like crediting google. As for the final, I didn't watch any of Spain matches, I will be rooting for them, but if Italy plays as well as they played yesterday, the Spaniards will have a hard time beating them. I'm team Casillas btw

Snooze-fest? People are there to win, not to entertain the public (not their main aim at least). Yes maybe Spain's boring, but if that's gonna help them, why should we critize?
