Seems like such a waste to layer all those effects on a perfectly stunning image! Without that it could have been one of Rachel's strongest covers yet, after her 2012 one for British Vogue.

    Why layer on more flowers?

Let me get this straight. We’re in the middle of a global pandemic but I’m supposed to care about Rachel f*$&ing Weisz?!

What a boring choice. Was there nobody else available? So far this year they’ve used Victoria Beckham, Emily Blunt, and Lea Sedoux. We need fresh faces! Where is Jodie Comer? Come on HB, you can do better!

So I presume July will be the issues UK magazines have to acknowledge the current situation with, and largely because they haven’t got anything to use as a cover. Business as usual here. Movie it along. That’s what I’m taking from the June issues thus far anyway.

It seems strange to pick on Rachel Weisz - you could literally ask that of any celebrity at the moment. She definitely has a strong enough fanbase particularly for the UK Bazaar demographic.

Her cover was obviously for Black Widow which was going to be one of the biggest blockbuster hits of the summer.

    Newsstand cover looks better:

Did they not have budget for flowers?

That shot with the black dress and white polka dots feels so out of place.

At the best of times, I don't care what celebrities are saying or doing, I pay money to see pictures of good-looking people and places on paper.

UK Bazaar is superbly placed to sell us the dream of being stuck in a house that's got forty rooms, a secret library and a private forest.

And if there's no place for dreams in printed material at the moment, people should also stop reading escapist fiction, and instead start purchasing serious tomes about the history of plagues or how to implement health and safety in the work environment, because that reflects the current situation.

Escapism is still important, maybe more so than ever, but pretending everything is still “business as usual” is absurd and out of touch. Both Vogue Espana and Vogue Taiwan demonstrated that not only is escapism still possible but that the current climate of isolation can lead to even dreamier covers than normal. Yes, I want to escape but not by reading another inane, repetitive, publicist controlled interview of Rachel or Carey Mulligan. Bring back fiction, Illustrations, great still life photography. Dive into your archives and let us see unpublished images. Gives us an in depth runway report with all the dreamiest fashion we can look forward to. Create a scrapbook of the most editorial looking beauty and backstage shots. There’s plenty that can be done, doing the same thing as any other month just proves your irrelevance.

LOL, I can't imagine what it would look like if Harper's try to reflect the real world. 'This is me in Harry Winston jewels, a Tiffany tennis bracelet and Chanel HC, lounging in my storied Costwold manor without the cooks and cleaners'? *insert teary-eyed emoji*
I want to say they've always been dealing with escapism, so for them, to deliberately create an alternate reality on top of that would seem a bit, odd?

That sounds like a new series - the Kardashians in the Kotswolds.
