It would seem here in the UK we're getting a Twilight cover and not Elizabeth Taylor..

Telegraph.co.uk

And here's a slightly larger version of their cover:

My snap

It has happened before that we've had different covers for the two editions, although I can't think of the last time it actually happened..

I believe Bruce Willis for the US edition and the Queen for the UK edition.

They're the same magazine, for the most part. They have slight alterations in articles I believe, but generally it's just the same magazine printed again, and they almost always have the exact same covers.

So this could be only the second time it's happened then. I do find it amusing the US got Bruce and we got The Queen. Ha.

The content is pretty much similar, but the ads are completely different. Getting a variant of the covershot is not common but it has happened before, the death of Kennedy and Bessette vs the Beckhams etc.

It seems slightly dumb to me...like... surely Twilight should have been the US cover, and Elizabeth Taylor the British? I'm not quite sure why, but to me it would just seem to benefit them more to have Twilight stars on the US cover, which is by far the bigger market for them?

Also when Anderson Cooper was on the June 2006 cover in the US, the UK cover was Keri Russell. Nicole Richie was featured in that issue. I was always confused why they didn't use Nicole because she was at the peak of her fame at that time.

Sorry I'm confussed. "The Queen" What??? I thought it was Liz Taylor. Are there two US covers with The Queen and Liz?

I agree having the Twilight girls on the UK cover is weird.

I hate when they change covers. It's happened a few times last being the Anderson Cooper issue.

No, no Queen cover... if you back up we were disucssing when the UK/US had had different covers, previously one of which had been The Queen on the UK cover, and Bruce Willis on the US.

It's quite a nice homage, more or less, imo.

They managed to make Dakota look not so great...

Interesting find, Next to the original ones, this new girls look even more insipid.

WHAT! How come we're stuck with these tweens who like they are holding a glamourous seance on the cover whereas everywhere else gets Elizabeth Taylor? Thanks alot, Vanity (Un)Fair.
