Boring. What happened to Meisel?
Love her and love this one!
Simple but perfect Meisel
I can find any photographer shooting this but no Meisel. Yikes.
Second month in a row... let's pray it keeps up. Karlie looks beautiful, I hope the editorial is as good as Vogue Italia's December 2011
but so airbrushed!
....her? Is she even relevant anymore?
Looks like Testino under Alexandra Shulman. The garishly lime green masthead, the middle-class styling (jewels & jumpers?), and then Karlie. Not ugly by any stretch, but very underwhelming for a prestige Vogue edition.
Another boring Meisel for UK Vogue. Same thing. Cover has a white backdrop and editorial gray. Next!
Karlie Kloss by Steven Meisel:
The preview of Karlie’s story is stunning, either of those shots would have made better covers!
I really wish Edward would step out of his comfort zone. This would have been better if it were outdoors with a blurred background.
The white and green is an eyesore. Wish the logo was Orange so there’s contrast with the green outfit.
Wasn’t it Carine who said that Green text doesn’t work in covers? I remember reading that somewhere
The layout is improving, but its sad that its not original. Bazaar UK has used the same, and ELLE UK is using the same variant. Its terribly sad for a big 4.
As for the editorial previews, I’m bored. Its one and the same. It feels like an entire CATALOGUE spliced into issues.
I like it... can’t pick these days...
SO MUCH RETOUCHING.... It's like he relies on it to more and more make it look more Avedon. Geez. Just ends up looking CGI.
That being said, I kind of love this cover? Her expression, the garish green, almost nostalgic throwback? Something about it creates quite an impact.
Bombed, an instant dated cover is here. I don’t like the styling, she looks lovely though.
Glenda Bailey as well! Julianne Moore appeared on a US Bazaar cover years ago, a stunning shot and cover, but apparently it performed poorly on the newsstands because of the green colour.
And I agree with Blayne, the previews are much stronger. Especially the third shot, even if it doesn't look much like her.
The third shot is also contentious tbh. It reminds me of Adut Aketch’s December 2018 UK Vogue cover. The hat, the netted stuff, the earring that matches the color of what they’re wearing, where the head is faced. Its similar.
Not sure if Edward gives Meisel the license to be lazy because he’s Meisel, or all of these are Edward’s vision. Troubling
I hate the green instantly. I love her expression on the cover but the green is sort of stealing my attention, and not in the good way
Love the green, its refreshing, and Karlie looks beautiful, it's nothing groundbreaking, but for August I don't need it to be. It will look great in print too.
Very unexpected. The cover is meh! *Rupaul's face*, I guess next month won't be shot by Meisel.
