UK Vogue March 1993 : Kate Moss by Corinne Day

Kate’s first ever Vogue cover

I was lucky to get this for only ten euro’s a couple of years ago. Stumbled upon it in a thrift store.

I remember buying this at the time - and feeling so seen! As a 22 year old... the models - all except Kate with that short, shag, hairdo, completely represented how we all looked and dressed... apron wrap dresses over tee-shirts, diaphanous dresses over jeans. Military jackets. it was electrifying - all the more so because any vaguely pretty girl with good connections was suddenly pretty enough to be a supermodel.

Gorgeous! So perfect. I hope someone posts the rest of the story. I seem to remember Rosemary Ferguson among others. Such an interesting time in fashion - I remember being quite shocked that she is wearing Chanel in these images (as in, so high-brow), but in retrospect it was a canny way to marry the street aesthetic and high fashion.
