UK Vogue October 2011 : Adele by Sølve Sundsbø

I'm happy that Adele got the cover, she is just so talented but this cover doesn't do her justice, I need to see it bigger, its boring and somewhat predictable.

OMG I'm so happy that she got the cover! I agree that it's a bit boring and predictable but I don't care, she really deserves it :)

I think it's a gorgeous cover. Adore Adele and I think her face is absolutely stunning so I couldn't care less that it's a beauty shot!

I personally don't see the point of deciding to use a plus sized star such as Adele and then cropping so much into her face. It's predictable and sort of stupid. It's Adele. We all know what she looks like. We can handle more than her face and lots of hair. She's a beautiful woman and that should be shown.

All that being said at least it's a nice headshot. Before a lot of the 'boring' comments come in just be thankful it's not another horrific headshot like we've had previously. Kate Winslet's or Gwyneth's last cover for example. At least it's been done well.

^ I agree. They should have showed off her gorgeous figure. Honestly, I really don't like the makeup. She's so beautiful and I would have liked a more natural look as opposed to that heavy eyeliner.

To be honest though, I couldn't care less about Adele's looks or figure, gorgeous or not, its all about that great voice of hers and I'm interested in what she has to say for herself. Seems like a logical move by Vogue UK to use Adele, I think this issue will sell well.

Why am I not surprised they didn't go for a 3/4 body shot? The zoom in on the face reminds me of US Elle magazine and Gabby Sidobe.

Every cover of Adele is just a beauty shot. So predictable. She isn't your typical cover model so why not use that to your advantage instead of hiding it?

Why on earth did they choose that picture? I'm beyond pleased she got the cover, but I certainly expected more.

There is going to be a lot of wank over the team choosing a close up shot instead of an image showing her "beautiful figure" but I don't see any problems with what they've done. With any iconic figure, which Adele is close to reaching at this point IMO, covers tend to be a close up shot.
And its not as if they're straying far from formula - Vogue UK does quite a lot of face only shots. I think its better that the cover is a closeup because if anything its accentuating just the person, not the figure - Adele isn't a plus-size model she's a singer.

This was predictable. But the color palette is quite nice and the make-up looks good.

Yup! Sooooooooo predictable, this is exactly the word: a head shot because her body isn't considered "good" for high fashion, so they just shot a plain head shot which looks just as every picture we've seen of her. How predictable from British Vogue too to produce something once again uninspiring.

I'm happy that Adele is on the cover, but from that small image, she looks drunk. Not a good cover.

I don´t like it... there is nothing special about it, just an ordinary face cover

Yeah for Adele getting the cover!:woot: I might get this issue! Can't wait to see what's inside!

Yay Adele! She's such an amazing singer and gorgeous too boot. However this Vogue cover is a bit boring, although she looks pretty. Why didn't they do a full body shot? We all know what Adele looks like and love her even more for it. She's unabashedly herself which makes her all the more charming. So why not a cover that matches the Adele that we all know and love? Also, this up close portrait shot reminds me a bit of The Gentlewoman cover she had a while back.
