Honestly I just don’t get why nobody can take advantage of Charlotte Wales. She’s insanely talented.
Such a real pity.
Crikey, the art direction! I'm sorry, but this is unforgivable. How on earth did it pass so many eyes?!?
As happy as I am for Charlotte Wales scoring her first Vogue cover, this simply isn't it. Maybe Lewak was right all along, maybe POP is the only magazine who does her work justice. Composition of the image is off. That's not even getting to the terrible styling and quality of the image.
This is not a cover!!
WTH is this?! that layout hurts my eyes more than the image...
Edward really doesn't play the advertiser game, does he? Im sure Alexandra would take advantage of an up and coming actress and dress them in advertisers to get all the credits in.
Im assuming just appearing inside Edwards Vogue is enough.
The people buying this in the supermarket will have no idea who she is and The Crown isn't out until November.
Son of a... well, I knew I was being delusional about Meisel. Looks like October is our new ''Big Fashion Issue'' month, huh? Interesting.
I agree that Charlotte Wales is much better than this! And I can't believe this was their best option for a cover. Nothing works here! Terrible, terrible choices... What a shame. Such a missed opportunity to do a stunning tribute to Diana.
As much as I like the photo and looooove Charlotte's work, this is a NO for me just because of the text placement... is terrible like the first cover I did for The Cover Challenge and the font they used in her name... gurl wtf? Makes Farneti's font choices look magistral... and I'm saying a lot.
The art direction is all sorts of awful, the garden backdrop reminds me of British Harper's Bazaar and I dislike the use of a full-length portrait as opposed to a clear-cut closeup introducing Emma Corrin onto the circuit for the cover.
However, there's some sort of 80s glamour going on with the styling that I cannot help but appreciate and the 'big fashion issue' cover line has me intrigued as to what's inside. Here's to hoping for some serious Steven Meisel.
I liked this better when it was my mom’s prom photo from the early ‘80s
Omg. what is it
I like it
if has this obvious 80’s appeal (Diana married Charles in 1981) which is a not so subliminal message but, nevertheless, smart IMO, so the ODLR volumed gown does the job perfectly.
ALSO, the stare of the actress is somewhat defiant which, wishfully thinking, is an homage to the late Diana’s struggle/ challenge/ confrontation and with the British monarchy.
I will be deffo buying it.
Oh goodness. Everything leaves much to be desired.
Imagine having all the budget and yet failing to hire a decent art director.
No idea who she is, but i love how unexpected that image is for the cover. And after such hopeless September issues, can't bring myself to be excited over this.
Wow I think this is almost worst than that Alexa Chung cover Lucinda hated LOL
Another magazine I will not be buying.
Ok so I don’t like lighting of the image and how there are subheadings scattered about. And Emma Corrin’s pose isn’t the best. But I do like the very 80s vibe to it
Perfect for advertising deodorant-one that doesn't stain your 80s prom dress! And is vegan!
I love it for some reason. It’s unapologetically.. something.
He just don’t know, what to do with this magazine.
