It's not her strongest collection, perhaps because it's too heavy with eveningwear. However, Ulla Johnson is still one of the best designers of the NYFW. There are really nice pieces, everything is wearable and stylish. The textures are also deliciously lush as always. I just wish she had focused more.
Not as awful as many other collections this week but not extremely thrilling either. I like the shades of green used and the casting, even if way too classical, could be worse.
Its missing that feminine movement that we have come to associate with her brand, this feels a little heavier and you can tell thats hes a designer that emjoys designing for SS than FW. That said there are still several beautiful pieces and the prints against the lush greens and rich reds are nice. Many of these will also look nice styled into everyday wardrobes with lighter separates. Even on this runway, she wore it better than the models.
