Ulla Johnson S/S 2023 New York

When you want to look boho...but you end looking like a walking curtain from the discount aisle.

Beautiful collection! What I like about Ulla Johnson is that she experiment with different textures and silhouettes yet still maintain a strong aesthetic. Same can't be said about Batsheva.

The little green puffy number and most of the nipped waist looks got my attention.

It's very Missoni in some places then very Rodarte puff sleeve in others, so it is bit out of balance. Not bad, but not great.

I love this collection. What I appreciate about Ulla is that she can design clothes which are easy to wear and interesting at the same time because she knows how to play with different textures and prints. Of course it's not the most intellectual direction, but I still appreciate the fact that she just produces fantastic looks and that's her operating mode. That's why I believe she's one of the best, if not the best, designers of NYFW, because at least she's honest with her goals.

Ulla Johnson is always a highlight of New York for me, and this collection is no exception. It's beautifully executed, love the colour palette, the textures, the prints and the shapes. A cut above the rest, as opposed to what has been unveiled during NYFW thus far.

She’s done better (her last Pre-Fall, for example) but it’s generally pleasant and true to the style she’s devoted to. There’s plenty to like in here, like that coral jacket on Chloe Oh.

Another solid output from the always reliable Ulla Johnson! The color palette was divine!
