The clothes are really great! They're really beautiful.

However, I think the presentation on the mannequins is kind of bizarre and pretentious...I liked it better on the model.

Beautiful collection!!

I am swooning over the pieces in the fuzzy/feathery material. They are delightful! (Except for the pants... they remind me of chicken legs. But then again I just ate chicken, so I might be biased )

Love the mood in the pics with the models, it's severe and romantic at the same time. The hair cap, the jewelry, the shoes, everything just works amazingly together. The clothes don't look as good on the mannequins though. The lighting and the white clothes on white mannequins on white background ... it just looks too harsh in catwalking's pics. PetitLapinVegan, I like your pictures much more! It's nice to actually see people enjoying and interacting with the clothes and the photographs!

the title here is "grace".
it's also the name of the creature.
there is a story told through the pictures taken without any CG tech which are to be published later this year.
the photographer is katsuhide morimoto

the whites have nothing to do with the theme of this season.
it seems that he tried to strike just the right balance between gallery, mannequins and pictures.

This season Takahashi notes that he was inspired by white, fluffy creatures with luminous eyes called "Graces." These creatures, invented by Takahashi, keep their distance from humans. A secret organization called Gila, he says, has succeeded in breeding and protecting the Graces. Gila also has played a crucial role in fostering a relationship between both the Graces and the human species. To illustrate this notion, Takahashi made dolls (which looked somewhat like a cross between an alien and a monkey with luminous eyes and a light on the tip of their tails), which rested on the shoulders of a few of the mannequins that were set-up in the center of the gallery space.

Grace-inspired photographs by Katsuhide Morimoto were set-up around the gallery space depicting everything from a valley of Graces, to people dining amidst 20-some cages of Graces, to a young woman starring at a luminous Grace.

it's an inspiring storyboard.....and the adorable little dolls(which has also made a nice return quite coincidentally)are as equally stunning as the clothes.

Takahashi mentioned in an interview that he wanted to focus more on a western client and design with their sensibilities in mind. With past seasons I wasn't convinced he was able to do that and more often than not found himself in a weird limbo that appealed to neither his established Japanese fans or the Europeans and Americans he was trying to win over. I think many of you know the shift I'm talking about when he seemed to suddenly become more commercial, SS 07 I think it was. But now I'm totally convinced. These clothes are very much in the European tradition and they're quite gorgeous, totally wearable, yet still contain the quirk and cleverness that we all know Undercover for. Masterful really, one of the best of the season.
