I think I'm in the minority here but I like it. It's actually the best she has looked so far in print, since they usually do abysmal things with her face and skincolor. Also the styling works for me.
The best she's looked in print was for Net-a-porter's The EDIT. This looks like she rolled out of bed and forgot to fix her wig and slept in her makeup. If I want to see photos like this I'll pick up US Weekly and skip to the 'Stars, They're Just Like Us" section.
This is completely unacceptable. Come on ELLE. Kerry is BETTER than this.
I find it interesting and edgy for Elle standars but I wish the styling was different, the jewellery clashes with the jumper killing the sporty idea imo.
Terrible styling on the cover! Way too urban for a fashion magazine. This Myers woman has no sense of fashion. And it's beginning to become clear that Kerry simply isn't cut out for print.
I genuinely thought Gilles Bensimon photographed Kerry here, until I read the credits but I can honestly say that I like this! The cover feels like a breath of fresh air and I love the fact Kerry's wearing a sweater on the cover. Lately, American Elle's styling has been very similar to that of Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele. Once again, I'm having a major throwback with this cover, and loving it.
I'm liking this new directed that Elle is taking with cover images. Sometimes it works like with Kerry and sometimes it fails like with Brie, but overall this cover I LOVE! I love the sweater and the laid back of image.
But I do agree her best print was for The Edit along with Vanity Fair COVERS
I’ve always loved the beautiful-- and she is beautiful, tousled, bedroom-hair and sweatshirt combo— but only when the lighting and composition is skillfully achieved.
This tabloid-looking shot with the awkward hair-hat and flat lighting just looks so cheap. Sad that this is the lack of quality that publications need to stoop to nowadays in order to sell to the masses.
For me it kinda doesn't look so much like her. It's just not a good cover at all, it's pedestrian. And considering Kerry takes a lot of fashion risks they really could've done so much more. Though I do think she usually doesn't photograph well

Perhaps urban was the wrong word.... It just looks like she's some random girl, shot after a night of hard partying (messy hair and make-up etc). Very poorly executed if that was the idea. Also, the cover bears zero resemblance to the edit.
