US Elle August 2024 : HoYeon Jung & Anok Yai by Mario Sorrenti

I think the result could have been better if I hadn't done that makeup on her!

I am not loving the cover photograph. I prefer the last photo in the mustard dress. However, the future of fashion as a theme sounds interesting.

It's not blowing me away but I love the yellow dress shot.
However where are her shoes?! I hate when magazines do that.

Looks exactly like a Bazaar France shoot

Two covers of American Elle in a row that I have... loathed. What's going on? I'm usually a huge champion of Nina Garcia's Elle but this is another massive letdown. The cover feels empty, cold, sterile and lifeless. There's genuinely not one redeeming feature...

I am convinced this girl is unable to emote anything other than misery.

The problem is her and her limited capacity to express something in front of the camera….im sure if they mixed with smile shots or more playful mood the results will be better…

^I've seen her Korean magazine photoshoots and she's great there - dynamic, versatile, knows how to pose and can make even rubbish look good. Her Vogue and Elle US covers are so disappointing though, shame.

Also it's been 3 years since Squid Game, I hope this means her next acting project will be out soon.

^ she has a very exciting new TV series out this fall, with Cate Blanchett, directed by Alfonso Cuarón!

Finally, Mario Sorrenti at an appropriate magazine for his photographic capacity - Elle!!
And at that, as mediocre as it ever was.

she's dangerously entering unphotogenic actress lane. miss her as a redhead.
